𝔅𝔩𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔶 ℜ𝔢𝔫𝔢𝔤𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰

Stretching for as far as the eye can see lies a sea of reds and golds, a glowing silhouette of warmth engulfing the earth like a blanket. A serene calmness weaves through the air, permeating a familiar touch of security while tickling the grass, softening the clouds until they dissipate. No matter how you try and stretch your neck, the forest covers the entirety of the horizon. A growing layer of dense fog obscures your view, despite the skies appearing more clear and blue in every other direction, creeping upward where the mountain begins. Perhaps the forest thins out the higher up it goes, or the mountain is dressed in a cacophony of autumnal leaves.

A gentle breeze climbs up the hillside you stand upon, sharing with you notes of freshly churned soil, sweetly flowering herbs, and a crisp undertone you can't quite discern. Though whatever it is leaves a sharp, biting sensation in your nostrils, making you sneeze harshly. The abrupt sound sends a few birds scattering, their wings beating rapidly as they search for purchase in the wind. Without a doubt, they had been startled by your presence. You watch with focused eyes as the birds fly away, growing into blackened snowflakes in the opposite direction of the golden forest.

Sparing the feathered creatures little thought, your attention reverts to the forest, then to the towering field of grass standing between you. Ripples like tides caress the blades, twinkling sunlight to your eyes. Intriuging. Inviting you in. A shiver runs down your spine from a billowing gust, causing you to shake free the rest of your coat and springing you forward with surprisingly eager steps. You dive nose first into the field, the tall grass swallowing you whole as your navigate your steps with nothing more than your nose to guide.
