Nursery
You can hear the tiny yips of newborn pups and the gentle shushings of their mothers as you duck through the low cave entrance, pushing aside a canopy of leaves and vines with your nose. Inside, the air is warm and smells of milk and comfort. Nests of feathers and leaves lie scattered around the cave, each occupied by a mother and her pups or a heavily pregnant female wolf. Several heads turn to you, expressions ranging from momentary distrust and protectiveness to friendly welcoming. A few pups bound up to you, squealing something about a game.
