The Canopy
Up in the uppermost branches of the forest canopy, flimsy wooden bridges held together by vines connect hundreds of homes hollowed into the tops of the trees. Only the most esteemed and skilled of the Duskdancers are allowed to settle into these treetop dens.Back during the earliest days of the colony's history, when they were known as the Goldleaf Colony, this place was built as the original camp, created so that wolves had shelter from the multiple predators lurking down on the forest floor.
At some point, it was abandoned, every one of its residents fleeing in a panic, leaving most belongings. What caused this hurried escape is unknown, but it's assumed that a devastating fire had started in The Canopy. After the colony returned from the Ink River Canyons, they rebuilt it from the ruins it'd been in, as well as creating the Towering Bayan Grove.
