Garden of Eden | Pack Leaders
It will be getting dark soon, you'll have to find a place to rest. -- But first, you must deal with that pesky hunger pain...You emerge from the tree line into a small clearing, having followed the sound of running water and the delicious smell of fresh salmon swimming through it. Sure, the scent you picked up on as you journeyed closer to that cool lap of water you so desperately craved was to be noted, but between how dry your mouth had grown and the growling of your stomach, it wasn't a concern.
As you pad up to the creek beneath the overhanging rose vines, mind swirling with anticipation for this long awaited meal, your nose snaps up. The scent of another wolf has completely enveloped you, the same one you noticed on the way through the forest. Quickly, your eyes scan the area, falling to a dark shadow in the den just across this small stream. Light reflects just barely off of golden adornments, if not for that, you might not have seen him at all.
Slowly, the unknown wolf stands, taking long steps out of his den before emerging into the setting sun. Despite his dark fur, the sun's last few remaining rays seem to play on each strand like young pups in the summer heat. He stretches his paws out far in front of him, dipping his head as if he was about to bow to you. Instead, his ears fold back, and his tail perks up as he let's out a light-hearted howl. Moments later, after being fully satisfied with his really big stretch, he shakes the last remaining bits of sleep from his body.
Captivated, or maybe on guard, you can't help but stare from across the water. You watch the feathered stubs protruding from his back shiver with the rest of him, twitching almost anxiously, like they had never been clipped in the first place. With a sly smile, he calls out to you...
"I'm Mambo, and welcome to my garden of Eden."
