Wolvden can be kind of confusing, and the best resource to figure it out is through other players, so I'm here to help! If you're new and would like to be adopted, I can mentor you ^^ and if you have any questions, feel free to reply here with them or message me! A little about me: I go by Battle_Burrito, I use they/them pronouns, I live in the US Central timezone (though I'm often up late-) and I've been playing Wolvden since November 24th, 2020. I'm overall pretty knowledge about the game (I'd say my weak point is pricing eheh). As your mentor, I'd be there to provide answers to any questions you have to the best of my ability, direct you to resources that can help you if I can't, provide advice, and if needed provide resources. The Grouse House Guides is the best resource Wolvden has regarding any information on the game you may need. |

hey there! i'm an older player, however i never dived into the game. with that being said, i am completely and utterly lost. there is quite a bit to take in here. i would love some help + guidance on pretty much everything, but i am mostly interested in learning how to set up my pack + find wolves that will benefit me for hunting and exploring. i have checked out a few guides already, but it has been a bit overwhelming. |

To set up a pack, you obviously need a herbalist, (at least 1) scout, 5 hunters, and preferably some pupsitters. All of these roles are stat-dependent expect pupsitters. Herbalists utilize Wisdom and Smarts, Scouts can utilize all stats, so I recommend checking out guide for your scouts. But generally, to unlock the Rainforest and Glacier territories (which seems a lot of people struggle with) your scouts will need high strength (rainforest) and high wisdom (glacier). Hunters also utilize all stats, but this is dependent on which hunting role they fill. Stalkers utilize Wisdom and Smarts, Chasers utilize Speed and Agility, and Finishers only utilize Strength. 'Wolves that will benefit your pack' is broad since it depends on what you'd need those wolves for, but since you said hunting and exploring, I'll try to stick to that. Generally the best thing to look for in wolves is high stats and clean pedigrees (not inbred). Unclean pedigrees have no advantages/disadvantages, but many players don't like them ^^' Now to get more specific. So, of course, all wolves have personalities. These personalities can effect how well your wolves will work together on hunts (as of writing this, personalities only effect hunting parties). This personality guide will help you figure out which wolves can and cannot hunt together. If you already have experienced hunting wolves on a party together that don't match up personality wise, high party synergy can somewhat negate the personality differences. And of course when you're looking for wolves to fill the hunting roles you want to pay attention to their stats. This is the same thing for exploring, but overtime all of your scouts should have high enough stats (they gain them the fastest) to conquer any dangerous territories. You can always ensure that your wolves are gaining the stats you want by going to your wolf's settings and setting their priority stats. Let me know if you need any more info or if I need to elaborate on anything |
