Hi! I'm a professional painter with a goal of making some sort of digital comic. I am currently in the process of writing a long-term, Nordic werewolf myth-inspired mystery that is taking me about 12 years (ok, not that long. The inspiration moment for it happened in 2018 and the google doc was only started in April.) I'm the type of person who likes to procrastinate on one large project with a bunch of little things. And, if these little things can help the bigger comic, it's all the more reason to do them.

I really like the concept of a short gryphon comic. Specifically, one under 20 pages of around 4-5 illustrations per page. I'm not great at digital art, but my 10000 hours in traditional work pulls some weight in that I can't say I'm a "beginner artist."

Werewolf Stuff to be posted mainly to this Ko-fi for free. It may be a long while if you're hoping to read anything soon, lol

ANYWAY.

I think gryphons are creature that are underutilized as protagonists. I've been wracking my brain trying to force some sort of creativity to flow around its open cavities. However, yesterday I was watching a red-capped sparrow and a chipmunk get into my porch potted plants and I thought "those two things would make an interesting gryphon." Since then I've been trying to do research and have found they are typically used as monsters and as flying mounts. You'll probably see them in fantasy stories where many mythological creatures are represented, but rarely alone.

I really enjoy concepts where the eagle and lion  are swapped out for other creatures, hence my sparrow/chipmunk thought. Story-wise? I'm not sure what creatures to even consider. I'm just looking for little bits of inspiration to play with at the moment. I'll probably post doodles here too
