With to much time on my hands, I'm hoping some good old fashion roleplaying will cure the boredom. I've also added some plot ideas if you'd prefer something pre-made. A _(Very) Little About Me and My Style :: • First and foremost, I'd love to become friends with whoever I roleplay with! However, if that makes you uncomfortable, I completely understand and am fine with sticking to roleplay talk only.~ Being someone who has severe social anxiety I get it; I'm trying to be more 'outgoing' myself after years of sticking to the shadows. • I do tend to get a bit wordy in my posts. I like to describe things and tend to ramble some. Feel free to poke me about it and tell me to calm down if it happens and annoys you. • I've been roleplaying since I was twelve, took a bit of a break three years ago, and am trying to get back into it. I am now twenty-eight (28). • I can play any gender, so if you have a preference for your own and would like me to play one that compliments yours I can do it. • MxF, MxM, FxF, or any other combination is perfectly fine. I'm comfortable writing any pairing. That being said, I will not do any romance arc with a character under the age of 21. Likes :: It would honestly be a shorter list to name the things I won't roleplay. But here are a few I particularly like. Dark/Horror/Gore Apocalyptic/Post-apocalyptic Mafia/Gangs Angels/Demons Fantasy Worlds if a good plot is added to it Shapeshifters (felines in particular) Some Fandoms, feel free to ask! Dislikes or Won't Do :: Highschool/College Slice-of-Life Harry Potter Anime (I just don't know/watch any) Just Some Relative Info :: • Must be at least semi-literate. I'm looking for someone(s) who can typically write 1+ good length paragraph per post with decent grammar. • Romance is fine! Would prefer it not to be the only plot point, but I'm good with it. • I'm sticking to forum based only for right now, unless you can really persuade me to do Discord. • I'd feel more comfortable if whoever I'm roleplaying with to be over eighteen (18). Just because doing a roleplay with a minor would make me feel kinda weird. On to the Plots!...If Pre-made is Your Thing Long story short, I've a basic story idea I'd love to write, but absolutely suck at world building. So, I thought creating the world through a rp would be fun! Disclaimer: When/If I write this, I will not use your character(s) or any major plot points from this roleplay. This is simply to start creating a general idea about the species, races, topography, religion, etc. and, of course, to have fun.~ Basic Information :: This is kinda subjective and I don't mind it changing some of it if we find ideas don't fit into the roleplay. • The world, called Asi, is much the same as earth as we know it. • In terms of technology I'm thinking it's like Red Dead Redemption 2 (but maybe a bit earlier). Basically horses are still the main mode of transportation, and farming, hunting, and living off the land are still the primary means of life and labor. Steam locomotives (trains/boats) are a thing, but still in their infancy and used mainly to move goods or by the extremely wealthy. Electricity is also very rare and only the wealthy have it. • I also really love some medieval elements, so I'm thinking castles and the like are still common, as is the 'feudal system'. Basically we're mixing and matching time periods! Does not have to be based on Western culture either. • Magic is also a thing! Basically If you can think it, I'm definitely not against you throwing it in. • Make your character(s), side characters, enemies, etc. whatever race/species you'd like. I'm thinking there will be some main 'kingdoms' of Asi that is ruled by a specific species. For example: Humans, Elves, Weres, Fae, Angels, Sorcerers, Mers, etc. Does not have to be one or any of these, of course. We can come up with them as we go. • One aspect I'm keen on exploring is the different religions of the world. In particular how these gods and goddesses interact with the mortals of Asi. I'm not interested in using any religion/gods that already exist in RL, but some can be 'based' on them. Plot? :: I don't really have one for this rp. I figured we could come up with in idea we both like and expand it from there. Political intrigue? Sure! Our characters on the run from someone wanting to kill them? Why not! An adventure to locate a lost relic that holds the conscious of a god? Sounds good! The only thing I'd want to see is our characters getting out into the world in some way rather then being hold up in a castle or single city. Yeah, not writing all of this out unless someone is interested in the idea. If you are, let me know and I can definitely go into some more detail! Kinda really want to do this one.~ Basically each of our character(s) are the child of Death, War, Conquest/Pestilence, or Famine. As the time of the worlds end looms ever closer, Hell decide they rather like how things are going decide to stop it. After all, the humans are killing themselves and the world perfectly fine without Hell so much as having to lift a finger! They decide to destroy the Manifestations of the End. Without the Horsemen, the apocalypse won't start. What they didn't count on? The Horsemen knew of the plan and came up with a contingency; have some kids to pass the mantle onto! Our characters suddenly go from normal humans to the harbingers of the end; with spiffy powers and demonic horses to boot. When Hell learns of this they are displeased, and sends demons to finish off the lineage. However, Heaven has a say-so this time and assigns some of their own to protect them. The question is, however, will these new Horsemen react to learning their role at the End of the World? Will they follow Heavens plan, or forge their own? Editing The secluded little town of Blackwater is located somewhere between the living and the dead. It has been a safe haven for those who are 'different' since it's creation in in the early 19th century. Its inhabitants are all, mostly, peaceful people who have been drawn to the towns ambiance and it's thin veil between the our world and the 'other'. Vampires drink a cup of coffee at the 24hr Café alongside witches, psychics shop at the locally owned grocery with werewolves, and families of various species live in harmony with one another far away from the eye of most humans. It was a peaceful life, a good one. Until bodies start appearing in the woods surrounding Blackwater. The small town is now under siege from an unknown assailant whose motives are unknown but clearly nefarious. The veil is beginning to fray and it's acting as a beacon for other, less civilized, supernatural creatures who would happily watch Blackwater burn. Is it connected? Are the ritually slain bodies only the beginning of the end of Blackwater? This plot was wrote in 2017 and I'm way to lazy to rewrite it. I write much better then this now. XD In a time long before the monarchy ruled the land of Traeba, the territory was overran with witches, monsters, and thieves. It was not a good time for humans, who's population was to small to take control of anything and who were indiscriminately picked off. It was only an alliance with the tiny population of dragons who inhabited the area that allowed humans to remain in ancient Traeba. They gained protection from the dragons, could go so far as to ride them into battle against foes. In return humans did things that dragons could not; build shelters and weapons, plant and harvest crops, and domesticate animals for the dragons to feed on. Over many years, this alliance continued and humans and dragons began spreading over the land while vanquishing enemies. The two began to rule together. In time the land would be taken over and a monarchy would be put into place - who would be protected by the newly formed Royal Guard. This story, however, began long before the monarchy. Before the alliance with the dragons, when humans were little more than large vermin on the land. A powerful wizard on a journey of self deep in the mountains of Krym stumbled upon something ancient and all powerful. Sitting at the base of a stalagmite was a fist sized gem which pulsed with golden light. The wizard, before touching the stone, took note of the runic writing along the stalagmite. Intrigued, he began researching the meanings. Though it took time, the wizard was both awed and terrified of what he found in the end. The gem was a prison for an ancient dragon spirit. According to the runes if the spirit was released by someone with nefarious intentions than the ancient dragon could cause catastrophic damage and was nearly unstoppable. The wizard, not wanting the dragons spirit himself but wanting the glory of having found such a thing, left the gem in the Krym Mountains but wrote about his discovery for others to read. Presently, the scrolls pertaining to the the ancient dragon spirit have gotten into the hands of a corrupt man. This man was a former general in the Royal Guard - a man who was used to being respected and followed. However, the general sought too much power for himself and was kicked out of the Guard as punishment. Bitter and power hungry, the General called upon members of the Royal Guard and others to follow him against the monarchy, siting them as weak. With his own army at his back and the scrolls in hand, the General is seeking out the gem to bind the ancient dragon spirit to him to overthrow the current monarchy and take the throne as his own. Our story begins here, with two Royal Guard members. They've been sent with a patrol of other Guards on behalf of the king to retrieve the gem before the General does. Unfortunately their location was betrayed and just as the sun crested the horizon a large group of the Generals army descended upon the unsuspecting Guards. In the ensuing chaos all but two of the Guards and their dragons were slaughtered; some where they slept. Hmmm, this genuinely sounds interesting! I'm just wondering what exactly you'd be looking for in the roleplay, as in focusing mainly on world-building, or more on a long term RP (I know you said the RP was for helping you generate ideas, but still). Also, how culturally/historically accurate are we talking? Obviously magic isn't something that happened in the time period you were explaining, but would the events happening in the RP follow the same "timeline" as "our Earth's history?" Also, because I get writer's block a lot, what would some possible plot points be? Sorry if I'm rambling lmao

Hello!

While the general idea that started all of this was world building, I'd actually love for this to be some sort of long term roleplay. I want this to be fun for all parties rather then tedious. Whatever we come up with is just going to stew in my mind until/if I decide to write. I might use some ideas, or I might not use any. It's just to get the ball rolling.

This sucker is not going to be historically accurate at all. XD Earth does not exist in this universe, so nothing like what we know would have happened. If it helps any, in my mind I kinda envision Asi as a mash-up of the Witcher III's grunginess, creatures, cities/castles with the wilds and fantastical beauty of Avatar's Pandora. I used RDR2 as a baseline for technology, but nothing in terms of events happened. But again, this is all subjective to what we want to match a plot.~ Asi is it's own world and we're making it up as we go. :)

Hm, possible plot points? I guess that depends on if you'd prefer adventure and more of a whimsical and lighthearted roleplay, or something darker? Is there anything you won't do, or anything you really enjoy? I can come up with some basic plot points from there, or you can shoot me some ideas of your own!

I've been trying to get back into roleplaying for ages, and this sounds interesting. I haven't role-played long-term since I was fourteen (six years ago now,) so I'm super rusty. Honestly, my main issue when trying to get back into rping is knowing when to jump in, and that issue would be negated completely if I join an rp from the beginning. I'd consider myself semi-lit just because I don't like using melodramatic descriptions- unless lit doesn't have to involve things like "limpid blue orbs" in reference to eyes, in which case I'd consider myself literate.
Anyway! I should probably list my RP preferences:

Hello hello! I usually only RP with one group of close friends, but I'm looking to branch out for some diversity! I'm 18+ and I think I'm fairly literate and detailed. I can send a writing sample if you want!

Plot wise- I'd definitely be interested In the dragon riders plot and even have my own RP dragon rider pair too!

I also joined a supernatural themed group RP with many different fantasy creatures a while ago. Unfortunately it died but I still have my character from there who I can also use! I was excited to take her for a test spin!
