I realized that the community tried to spread the eye apps around so they become very common. The issue was that the new, rare items are released on a yearly basis somewhere and these become exclusive only for a few days. I didn't like this small portion of time considering there are also players who have a lot of cones. The issue is that these players don't have any purpose to spend these cones on for most of the time. The game doesn't offer much to reward them for their devotion or support. But I couldn't just sit and point it out, I was a player which means I was supposed to play, right? So I played. Seeing the situation and realizing that there might never be more opportunistic moment, I decided to invest all my savings to offer for recipes. I quickly caught one and even found another. On a bonus, I decided not to disclose the secrets of the recipe to anywolf else, with an exception by giving hints to those who had materials I demanded. I thought there must have been a valid reason for the development not to disclose the content, I felt it kept players more interested in the game when they have secret to discover and I wanted to find out how it'd influence the economy (until now I find it hard to draw conclusions). I'm really glad the news post didn't give all the information on a plate. The material requirements for these apps were very interesting I'd say, especially seeing the difference between certain recipes like another world with similar ground. Owning the recipes, I could craft eye apps. I sold them for certain prices. Some players bought them, others that waited for the prices to drop for them were unhappy with how high I priced these apps. I couldn't please everywolf, I decided to adjust my gameplay to satisfy the dedicated part of the community who actively rather than passively played the game. Therefore, since I know the eye app values will drop, I took measurements that would make the new eyes owned by these players exclusive for as long as possible. Since the update, I've been playing this game in an active, unique way. Even though it's nearly a week, I felt like it took a month. The experience was very thrilling, I have been interacting with so many players recently and given various, different feedback regarding my deeds - sometimes negative but also positive. There's a conflict of objectives after all, which makes this game exciting. From my perspective, I think players trying to make the apps more common are crucial for the enjoyment even though they make the apps exclusive only for a moment. One of the new apps has already stopped being exclusive and I could keep it only for 2 days. There's one common objective for the whole community though: to have at least one pair of each new eyes available. I'm happy I could distribute a few of them early enough. |

In the meantime, I am curious if anyone is doing any data gathering to get an idea of drop rate for the new recipes? I've averaged 22 scouting trips per day since Sunday with not a single recipe in sight. And frequent checks of the item Catalogue indicate most players are probably having the same luck I am. |
