Dracarys never really talked about his life before showing up at Hybrid Hallows. The only ones who may know some things are probably Salem or Hecate.
Dracarys was just a kid when he showed up, he was with a man, most likely his father. The man was speaking to a couple who had three children with them. Dracs was let free to hang out with the eldest brother of the three siblings, he seemed the closest in age to Dracs, maybe even the same age. He introduced himself as Salem and then they ran off to most likely get into trouble.
The two hit it off almost immediately since their personalities pretty much mirrored each other. As they grew up together, he became close friends with all three of the siblings but he was the closest with Salem.
Their bond grew into more than just best friends, Salem felt like a brother to Dracarys. They did almost everything together. The two were there for each other's highs and lows. However, when Salem left after the fire, Dracs tried to go with him. He didn't want Salem going off alone but Salem, out of grief, pushed him away and left for months.
During that time, Dracarys stepped up to help the other two siblings, Hecate and Judis, run the place. He mainly helped keep people in line, he was a dragon after all but he had a certain authority when people got smart with the siblings. More specifically Hecate. During Salem's absences, Dracarys and Hecate grew closer.
By this time, Dracarys was pretty much one of the town's studs. He was a regular down in the cave. Due to Dracs stepping up to help them out, the two started to get to know each other more as friends. However, they were no stranger to each other as they've seen each other down in the cave, but all they did was pass friendly naughty joke between each other.
Until one night...
It was the night of Hecate's birthday and Salem had yet to return home after their parents death months ago. Her brother Judis had gone looking for him that morning just in case he was close by, but Hecate knew better than to hope of her brothers return so soon. Usually, she'd be out partying with everyone else but tonight she sat in her room looking out the window.
Hecate let her eyes fall to her lap before she heard the door to her room open, making her look up. She expected to see her Uncle who had just recently left her room thinking he forgot something, but she was met with her brothers best friend instead. His white hair and colorful eyes making her heart skip a beat. Hecate forced a small smile on her lips up at him. "No sign of him?", She figured that's why he was here. To tell her that Salem hadn't returned yet.
Dracarys enters the room Hecate is in and approaches her. "That's Judis's job right now, I'm not here about him." He stops beside her with his last footstep planting with a soft thud, hands in pockets. "I'm here because it's your birthday and you should be celebrating it."
Hecate's eyes went to his hands and then his feet briefly as he made his way over. Her eyes scanned back to the party outside as she twiddled with her hands in her lap but she couldn't help the smile that genuinely came to her lips now. "With who? My brother's best friend?" Her eyes met his now as she slowly stood from the window, closer to him than she expected to be but she didn't move back.
Dracs smirks at her advances. He didn't move as she got up, making them stand only inches apart. "And? What's so bad about that?" He teased, playfully leaning in even closer.
She smirked teasingly, her eyes daring him. The two had been constantly flirting and joking but had never really acted on anything before. "I heard a dragons no company to keep. Might blow out your candles." Her eyes sparkled away from the sadness that once held inside them before.
"Well whoever told you that, clearly doesn't know dragons. We light candles. You know, fire breath and all that jazz." He said in a low tone. His eyes glancing down to look at her lips before coming back up to her eyes. Hecate moved to step around him.
When she did, his instincts took over and he grabbed her wrist before she could go far and pulled her back in. He paused, the two just staring at each other for a moment. Slowly, he started to lean in, as if asking her instead of taking it. It was her birthday after all and he didn't want to ruin her less than great day by making it worse.
Her heartbeat picked up as he pulled her back into him, her lips parted slightly as the tension grew between them just like it always did wherever they went. "Dracs.." she whispered, almost warning him about what he was getting himself into but her voice betrayed her as it lingered into a soft moan unintentionally. Her body followed just as well, ignoring every warning sign going off in her head and instead pressing herself closer to him as she gripped onto his shirt.
Once it looked like she was wanting it, did he finally lean in all the way and kiss her deeply.
When their lips touched, Hecate wrapped one hand to the back of his neck returning his pressure. She kissed him like she had imagined she would do all this time, like how she wanted to. Without regret, or fear of her brothers thoughts. She kissed him back like only he mattered to her.
Ever since Salem left, the two had been growing closer. And with their… hobbies, it was only a matter of time before this night together would happen. In the beginning Dracs was unsure about this because he didn't know what his best friend, Hecate's brother, would do when he'd find out. But as time passed, he eventually stopped caring. He wanted to get to know her more.
When the air left her lungs to tear her away from him, she rested her forehead on his. She waved one hand over the door to her place, the sound of the lock sliding into place clicking before she said, "Now.. we can celebrate."
Dracarys smirks at her comment. "Now let me give you the birthday you deserve…". He whispered before softly picking her up and setting her on the bed for a night both of them never forgets.
