As an apprentice, he was said to be rude, because he never wanted to sugar coat anything to make it sound better than it actually was. That's why he gets along so well with his sibling, Willowbeam. She has a hard time trusting others, but with Sparrowstorm she knows she will get the whole truth and nothing less. Sparrowstorm knows that his words can hurt at times, but he just wants them to know everything before making any decisions. He will try to comfort the people he hurts with his words, but he has never been good at it. When meeting new people he usually makes a bad first impression with them, so they try not to seek him out. That just means that the friends he does have, he will do his best to cherish them.
