Method 1: TC Price Check Trading Centre has a feature which allows you to check the prices of different items based on the prices given by other players. Go to Trading Centre > Search Trades > Items. On this page, you can key in the item name in the "Contains (Any)" column and/or select the item from the dropdown box given. Alternatively, you can also just type in the item name in the "Name" column but I prefer the first option because the second one might not include every trade because some sellers might just misspell their trade names or use a different name completely (e.g. Lucky Feet to You Are Very Lucky or something, you never know) This option is normally preferred over the others as it is more accurate in the aspect of finding out what the Wolvden market wants. However, I would recommend to lower your prices a little if you want your items to sell, unless it is really sought after, as the trades leftover in trading centre are normally trades that players don't want to buy. Method 2: Item Catalogue While the first method is useful most of the time, there are some instances where it does not work, for example when there are no such items for sale in the market at that time. So, the next option you have is the Item Catalogue. This method is not as great as the first one, because some items might not have the same price as another same-category item of the same rarity. However, if necessary, you might have to utilise this method. This method only works for some categories of items, mostly recipes (this works best), backgrounds (mostly event) and decors (mostly event), new expensive items such as apps (credits to @Dzanek). Some items don't work, like custom decor, because they are understandably rarer (unless it is a private decor in which case you would know too) Edit: I have been advised by @Wyrdwulf to clarify this point. So, how do you use the item catalogue to figure out an item's price? So, say a recipe has 30 copies in game, it would be more expensive than a recipe with 50 copies in game. Generally, <30-40 copies of a recipe is around 70-100gc, and the value decreases when the number of recipes in game increases. However, let me reinstate. This method might not work for every item, because some of them might just not be as sought after, thus decreasing its worth. It is only a gauge of the value of the said item. Method 3: Calculate Based off Past Trends (NOT RECOMMENDED) This method is only for those who can invest a lot of time and effort into predicting trends. However, I might be releasing a monthly trending list (?) if I get the time to work on it, on this forum. However, this method still carries with it an considerable amount of risk and is thus not recommended, as the Wolvden market is... unpredictable to say the least. *** And of course, you might just find a new way or combinations of some that works well for you. These are just the ways I favour and I hope they work well for you. If anyone has any other methods or thinks I can improve on my existing methods, feel free to comment below/ private message me. Thank you for reading and good luck with your trades. |
