Unable to change role in wolf’s settings

Hello! I'm just posting a quick question in the forum in regards to two wolves I acquired off the trading centre recently. They are both past their trading cooldown, and should be able to be gifted but I have found myself unable to change the role in their settings from pupsitter to none. (I also never set them to pupsitters, and they would not have been able to be sold on the trading centre if they had a role, correct?)
They are NOT currently protecting puppies, but they have a notif on their profile with the banner "This wolf is actively pupsitting - her energy regeneration is paused." as though they are protecting puppies.
Does anyone know if this is a bug/glitch or if I am missing something?

Try securing them and then unsecuring them again. If that doesn't help, check the Bugbox to see if there are others experiencing the same thing.

Just tried that and it seems to not have affected anything,
So I checked the bug box first if anyone was experiencing the same thing but I couldn't find a bug with the same issue so I submitted a report,

I'm glad to know for sure that it shouldn't be happening
