Alternative to Chasing Wolves

One thing, this might not be that much of an issue in the future. Right now people are befriending NBWs that they don't actually want because the game is new and they just need something to fill a role until they can replace it with wolf they like. Give it a couple months for the market to saturate with player-bred/customized wolves and a lot of those chased NBWs will never have been befriended in the first place. |

I don't remember reading anything official about what karma will affect outside of explore, such as chasing wolves, so I can only suggest what I can until we get clarification. If karma options for chasing wolves are planned then that's great! All I can say in that case is the sooner the better. I've had several pups I waited to become adults just so I could chase them and perhaps provide something new for all those players level 10 and up looking for new wolves. One that I chased had a brass base, which I don't think occurs among NBWs. I chase the plain pups, but pups don't join the pool of adult chased wolves as far as I'm aware. So if I get a pup I don't want, that isn't like an NBW you'd find in explore, (and let's face it, the market is saturated with unwanted pups) then I raise it to an adult and chase it then so there's a chance another player will find it. I won't befriend any plain NBWs in explore, for any reason, because my only option is to chase them off later and maybe get someone's hopes up for nothing. I just feel very limited with this mechanic at the moment. Eleven, you certainly do have a point. But there will always be players out there that are new or poor and can't get their hands on anything but NBWs from explore for a while. I'm sure the frequency will lessen with time, as you say, but that's a good chunk of time. Until that threshold is reached, many chased wolves will be a big disappointment and it doesn't encourage me to see what's out there in explore. |

Regardless of karma, I'd like a way to junk wolves without flooding the chased pool. In particular, I grab a lot of NBWs as sitter fodder and when I don't need them anymore I just let them waste away until they run, because I don't want to put more plain wolves in the pool. Meanwhile, even if I'm neglecting that NBW they're still taking a territory slot, and when they run I have to deal with the reclaiming thing being at the bottom of my den for ages. I think it would be fine to add one wolf garbage can option now, and then add another when karma is implemented. Or go ahead and add two but they just have the same effect for now, like meanly/kindly offering the acorn to the opossum in explore. |

Does them running not have them join the pool of chased wolves? |

Oof.... I didn't thiiiink so? I thought if you don't reclaim them in time they're deleted. |

I honestly don't know and now I'm curious lol Either way, starving a wolf or not playing with it to get it to run is distasteful to me. Then of course is the waiting time to reclaim them to run out, plus the notif box for it hanging around. It's really not a good or efficient way to get rid of wolves without chasing. |

Yeah, it's not. I think an option similar to "nature reserving" on LD would be fine. |
