Markings/Customizer Dropdown Suggestion

Good morning!

Summary: I have a suggestion relating to how you choose markings when customizing a wolf. As is, the drop-down is very long, and colors and design are chosen at the same time. My idea is to separate color and design into separate dropdowns to make it easier to find what you're looking for and to compare colors/designs.

I was a Lioden player, I think pretty early in its lifespan, and after taking a break for a while I came back to a million new markings and colors.... but every marking is in one dropdown, making it extremely overwhelming to browse the new markings. I assume it's still the same there, and it's like that on Wolvden too. It's especially difficult on mobile, which is how I play 99% of the time.

I did find myself thinking many times "hey, i wonder if I'd prefer this in a paler grey" and needing to scroll though several other options between them made it more difficult and time-consuming to compare.

And that was only during customising my first pair while having no concept of breeding mechanics or anything, so I'd imagine that people who make customs more regularly would find this more streamlined.

I agree with this, or with just allowing a search function with customization like there is for markings in the wardrobe. 

Please please pleeeeease  I would sell my soul for this feature. I got back into Lioden the same time I joined Wolvden and the amount of markings and colors is just.... overwhelming to choose from in a single drop down menu. I know it feels really minor right now, especially since Wolvden is so new, but it would definitely be easier to add something like this in earlier while there aren’t hundreds upon hundreds of markings to choose from!

I know that I myself get overwhelmed in the current menus (mobile player, both on phone and iPad), and it’s very likely other users feel the same.

Much-much support, I was thinking about the same thing! It's so clunky & massive as is and it will only get bigger! In fact it was a huge turnoff for my boyfriend when he was starting to play because even the starter wolf customization seemed intimidating to him.

Amazing idea! It is so overwhelming to go through the bazillion options for markings. This would be a wonderful improvement. I have nothing to add other than my support.

Support! I often want to see dilution in all colors or something, and it's pretty slow to search it up each time right now.

While we're at it, it would be nice to have the same change in the Wardrobe and TC Search.

Please yes, but even just allowing the user to start typing the marking name (so like either by color, "silver," which would show all silver markings, or by mark, "agouti," which would show all colors and varieties of agouti marks) would be great. This is already how it works on LD (though, WD has fixed mobile typing in search fields and LD hasn't so it's still super annoying for mobile LD) and would presumably require less effort, while still making a workable solution.

That would make the customizer/wardrobe way more user friendly.

I don't mean to be insulting, but the current system of "every marking option and color" in a single drop down menu is straight up bad game design. It would be incredibly easy to fix this and would be an instant, significant improvement on gameplay for both casual and dedicated players.

Please, if nothing else is chosen from the suggestion forum, seperate markings by type and color. I beg of you, from one game dev to another. Thank you for your continued hard work! 😭👍
