Button to delete topics

Rather than "Delete" your own topics, I want to see "Archive". Archiving your topic means no more replies can be made to it, and old archived topics shouldn't be displayed in the forum when you're just browsing. But they would still come up in Search. Sometimes a topic is just a question and once its answered, it doesn't need to be 'open' for more people to answer; but other people with the same question should be able to find it. |

I do NOT support the 'only if there's no replies' suggestion, however- like others have stated, it seems counterintuitive. |

Less coding would be required (compared to archiving or having an alternate setup for mods), and other problems (e.g. players trying to hide wrongdoings) would be avoided. A "flag for deletion" button is also much more user-friendly than modboxing for deletion, which I wasn't even aware I could do. How it would work: * A "Flag for Deletion" button next to "Bump Thread" that is only available to the original poster (OP) * A highlighted message is automatically sent in the forum that the OP has marked the post for deletion * Mods come in, check the post, and delete |
