Secondary Mutation Help

Hello all, I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate different mutations such as piebald's andΒ  splits into my pack via breeding. How do you figure out if your wolves are a carrier? I went to Genes Hollow and saw that you can only genetic test for melanism and albinism. How can I breed for success when my pack contains no secondary mutations visibly? How many gens does it normally take of utilizing studs?

Secondary mutations like pies and patches are obtained through breeding as long as one of the parents has it, and theres no gene for it. If a wolf has pie or patches, it shows on the wolf. The genes you are looking at are part of different mutations where youll need both parents to have a carrier gene in order for the mutation to show.
Its not a 100% chance of getting a mutated wolf, so dont expect too much for your first breeding.

If you dont currently have a pie or patches wolf then i reccoment either checking out some studs and have your females bred to them, but it can be a little expensive depending on which ones youre looking at. An example would be my stud which has patches mottled.

Another way to get one could be nice players giving muties (mutated wolved) for free in the giveaway chat. Theres also the trading center where you can BUY muties, and it could be expensive as well. The raffle hub is another option to try and get one. I have one patches mottled female up in a raffle, the link is in my den if youre interested.

The mutated wolf can pass it down to his offspring (pups), but if they fail to show the mutation then it ends. You will not be able to breed the mutation if the pup or next generation did not get it from the mutated parent
