auto-level wolves instead of making us do it to finish an action

I keep getting error messages that I need to level up a wolf before I can do something or other, and it gets a bit frustrating to have to stop what I'm doing to deal with it. But I don't really have a choice not to level up my wolves, and leveling up doesn't involve any options - so why not just have the site level them up automatically and send us a notification message with the results?

The notification message should be like the rollover/etc automated messages, telling you your wolf leveled up, what the new level is, what stats were gained, and the before and after stats - just to make sure all the information we could see when leveling up a wolf manually is still easily available. Here's what it could look like (from @Mars on the second page):

Leveled up [[wolf name]] from 10 to 11!
+1 Max HP (30 --> 31)
+4 speed (30 --> 34)
+3 smarts (30 -->33)
+2 agility (30 -->32)
+2 wisdom (30 -->32)
+1 strength (30 -->31)
Their HP was fully refilled.

I agree. While its nice to keep track of stats it could be nice to get it in a notification instead or something.

It's definately frustrating having to leave and come back to a page just to finish a task. Since it's not really an option, I think auto-leveling and recieving a notification would be a good idea.

I prefer the way it is personally, because I like to be able personally see the change in stats when a wolf levels up, and I might miss the level up if its just a notification.

My idea of a notification would be more like a rollover message, where your stats are logged for you to come back and view as well. Something I personally disliked was having to log my stats from my phone or accidentally forgetting, and then that summary was gone forever once the page was refreshed.

there should definitely be an option to enable this i think. for people who want to keep track, they can keep manual leveling on, for people who would rather their wolves to auto level that'd be great. maybe we could get a message updating us on wolves who leveled up in the rollover message.

Yes, I meant what 11|s said - a notification message like the rollover ones or the "you have puppies" ones, that tells you what stats were increased and all that.  I'll edit the first post to clarify.

A notification like the puppy birth could work, but I think it would have to say the before and after total stats.  Ive noticed a couple of stat related bugs appear in the bug logs, and if you dont have the before and after numbers there's really no way to catch those kinds of issues in the future.

Makes sense!  Before and after total stats and the increases, so everyone can check whichever numbers they're most interested in - it's not like numbers are hard to generate.

I agree with this since I tend to have wolves leveling at the same time and it can be a pain to have to manually level them up every single time.
