Event: Springtide Howl Fayre

I think mutation has a piece in it too, not quite to the level of gen. For example, my level 80 mutated plant is doing pretty well with contests. That definitely isn't the highest gen out there, but it still wins usually, so there's somewhere in the numbers where lower mutation gen and higher basic plant gen become equal.

How come the event is ending June 30th when it started almost a week into June? That's not a month long event. It should end July 5th

I like this event a lot and wish we were given the full "months" time to participate in it

Especially when people are complaining about prices and worrying about whether they'll get what they want out of the event. Taking almost a week off cuts into time to get currency a lot

If I remember correctly with previous new events that didn't start on time, the event did extend into the next month, so I was kind of surprised to see this one ending on June 30th.

agreed! it's really weird that it ends too soon, and a bit disappointing, because this event brings decor i REALLY love and would like to collect lots of

I love this event so much that it's such a shame I can't progress much because of the rollover requirements. No one needs two days to harvest 20 plants let alone five :/

@LunaLikes I have to agree with you.
Personally for me If it stays at 5 days like it is currently, I'm not gonna be able to finish the questline due to missing a rollover early in the event. This event started off fun, now it's just becoming stressful which is a shame, it's a neat event.

I was also surprised the event is ending on the 30th. Usually, events are a month.

The event is pretty neat tho!

really enjoying this event so far. I was super excited to see a new event mechanic, but after taking vacation I was worried I'd fallen too far behind. was able to catch up, and I'm so glad I got to participate, it was been so fresh and fun :)

Thoughts on the event so far:

I have not kept up with this, so there will probably be things that have already been said lmao

First off, the things that I like ^^
I love the concept of the event and the idea of spliting everything up into different areas and shops, it's a nice change to the usual tier shops and makes it feel more like the festival kind of event it's supposes to be <33
I also think the idea of selling flowers and berries, as well as of the Lucky Dip are quite fun and of course the gardening, that is just gold <33333
The groundhog roundup I simply love <333
I love the sounds they make and the animation and that it gives us another way of earning extra currency ^^

Now, I am unsure about the contests personally, I feel like with how the story is set up they should not happen as often since it kind of takes the anticipation for the, well, contest out of it and it just becomes a grind for the same flowers to get them as high gen as possible instead of planting what you maybe find pretty etc, which is quite sad since the art for all the flowers is beautiful
Maybe the contests could have a daily cap instead of hourly?
It would definitely make things less hectic and give more people the chance to actually win

I would also appreciate it if the Lucky Dip and Groundhog Roundup would reset every full WD hour like the Contests currently are since it makes everything more complicated with them counting from exactly when you last played
Especially for people who can't be on much this would be a great help since they would only have to come on once or twice an hour to garden and do those which would make it a bit easier for them to manage

Lastly I have two points that have mpre to do with the story/event itself. I was wondering why the event wasn't the full amount of days as the month it would have been in would have had since shortening it like this will give skewed data on currency earning etc I believe
And the second was that I feel like the storyline is somewhat in the background? I feel like this might be because of the wait between each part and the quests being quite easy to achieve except for the contest one so there is just a lot of time where you don't actually do anything story related per se and even when you do, so far it doesn't feel rewarding to do the story, though the texts and art have most certainly been fun <333

Throwing my own two cents about the event as well. I personally have been enjoying it so far! The overall theme of it is very cute and I do love the gardening aspect of it as well as all the booths and other smaller mini games you can do (contests/groundhog roundup/lucky dip). Overall it's wonderful but I do have some suggestions!

Make Groundhog Roundup and the Lucky Dip reset for every real world xx:00 hour like contests do. It does make keeping up with groundhog/lucky dip a bit of a pain and makes participating in them a bit more difficult in a way.

I do think the contests themselves need a bit of tweaking. They're good as is and I like the basis for them, but they definitely could be improved in a lot of ways as currently the short entry limit of 5 makes it a bit annoying to join especially if you're trying to participate on mobile and dealing with that extra loading time. I've played both on mobile and laptop pretty evenly and I consistently have a much harder time on mobile due to mobile latency. I admit I don't have any good ideas for how to improve contests, though there are several ideas others have posted on here are good starts!

And lastly please please change it to where if a plant mutates you don't lose the original plant. Yall can adjust it however you want but I just lost my 160+ gen Jade Vine and Snowdrops that I was using for contests due to it mutating and now is basically worthless. And I'm down to one 160+ gen Flame Azalea which is one of my other only high gen plants. I do love the idea of mutations being random! However I wish it did not mutate the original plant as I was focusing on 3-4 plants for contest purposes and the rest for selling. Perhaps you can have it to where when you harvest produce you get the original plant back plus a surprise mutated plant? Or when you harvest seeds you get all your original plant seeds then a surprise mutated plant seed from there. However yall wanna do it is fine with  me as long as I don't lose my prize produce I've intentionally been cultivating all event. Feels bad man
