When you get a mutation, maybe you could make it so it's an extra. ie You get the normal plant + the mute. I was trying to globemallows to gen 100 and suddenly I'm back to 84 because my "racer" turned into a g1 red mutation :(( Am I happy? Not really... Which is a pity because getting a mute should be a nice thing, and I had no red ones yet. |

Gardening is fun. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's a good timewaster. I've seen the comments here and I honestly think the explanation for how it all works is fine. There wasn't anything I was particularly confused about and it's okay that some stuff is inferred. Every event has a degree of inferred content, and this one has a stronger feel for that since it's more in-depth than the other events. The currency gain is very hardcore-player oriented, due to the vast difference between earnings. (24-48 GP/hr:120 GP/hr from contests alone.) It's definitely a competitive event, but everyone can make a decent amount if they put in the effort. The prices of the backgrounds and apps seem perfectly acceptable, especially because there's no base (yet?) connected to the event. I can understand lowering it for next year, but I support keeping the pricing the same. Groundhog Roundup is great on mobile, I wish it and lucky dip reset on the hour like the contests. The sound effects are cute and the art is good. Speaking of art, most of the art for the event is amazing! I love how the Lunar plants change from day to night, that's a neat touch. There's a lot of details like that - I enjoy seeing the plants actually grow over time! With the gardening, the amount of plants is fine imo. More plants make the daily requests complicated, I have 100 seeds that just sit there for the requests. If we're getting more though, we'll be needing a better sorting/searching system and a higher plant cap please. Mutations are cool and pretty, they were my mains this event. They sadly aren't good for currency-earning and it sucks to have a high-value plant turn into a gen 1 mutation. (Literally ruins daily requests.) If the fertilizer idea is still being considered, maybe there can be GP items that can help boost/hinder mutation chances? As for the Lunar plants, I'm really disappointed how they were handled. The bug report says they'll be adjusted for next year, so I won't touch on it more than that. The storyline is... yeah. I'm hoping it's just a placeholder of sorts, as it's evident that the gameplay is the main focus. The long stretches are rough, I'm assuming it'll be adjusted when things are fleshed out next year. I mostly entertained myself by laughing at Green Dog over how bad she is. Rival route definitely sounds more exciting than the teammates route, due to taking Abilene's cockiness down a peg. Overall, this event was varied and fun but very exhausting. That's partially my own fault for getting over 2000 ribbons, but the sheer volume of what we have to do gets to be too much. Some players have mentioned wanting it year-round, and I can't disagree more. I like the charm and don't want it lost from excess. A month of it is perfect, any more would cause serious burnout. Bugs aside, I had a good time. You guys did a fantastic job with this one! I'm making a personal note to remember my highest gen plants, to update on the last day. Gen 175 water lily stained mutation, gen 180 cloudberry, and gen 197 water lily, and 2212 blue ribbons. <3 |
