It costs GC to remove it 30 days early but I think it's free after that first month.

Removing your stud won't be free, the fee will only lower by 5GC-10GC after 30 days. It'll still be around 20GC to remove him unless he dies, that's the only way it's free

No, it's not free ever unless/until your breeding male dies naturally, which can happen any time between 7 years 6 months and 8 years old. (Unless they're also your lead in which case it's 8 years.) To remove your breeding male before that it will cost you 20 GC after the first 30 rollovers since you set them, or a total of 45 during the first 30 rollovers. (the 20 it always costs plus 25 to bypass the cooldown).
