Chasing vs Enclaving

with these two options available, i got to thinking about it and was curious which people tend to prefer and when/why; since the enclave keeps stats intact but also retains heritage, and chasing erases heritage but at the cost of changing stats as well. i know people use chasing to get low gen 'heirs' but otherwise im pretty in the dark!

I usually opt to chase, but it's for entirely personal reasons; I like to emulate the natural process of wolves staying in their natal packs for a year or two before dispersing to find a mate. More "desirable" pups are more likely to be adopted, whereas with Chased wolves, it's entirely up to chance. I know it's simply a silly wolf game, but I feel bad for all the un-adopted puppies

Edit to add: really ugly pups get sold for Enclave quests / fodder. somehow this doesn't make me as sad as the thought of giving them up and them not getting adopted! Maybe it's because A) I know they're going towards helping someone and B) the NPC text says they're going to a good home, even though they're functionally being deleted. 		Everstray
