"You better wake up after all of this," rumbled Starkov at the unconscious Zeke.

This stranger, having Starkov now go prance around with a Turned? He almost wanted his past solitude from being a loner again. At least then, he'd only have to worry about himself. "Making me spend all this energy," he huffed, if only an attempt to make light of the situation as he approached the Turned again. "You owe me a deer carcass... Two of 'em." Starkov stretched before carefully leading the Turned to face away from where he hid the other wolf. The male only seemed to smirk wryly at the sight of the Turned's behaviour. Stalking me, are you? Starkov was more than happy to copy that behaviour, circling the Turned in the same way it did him.

Without warning, Starkov lunged at it again, as if repeating the same move from earlier. Only this time, it was a ruse. Swiftly darting away from the Turned's bloody maw, the wolf aimed for the creature's hind leg. Breaking the Turned's leg might help even the scales... Or at least slow it down.

Starkov heard the satisfying snap of bone, felt it cave in his jaw. The foul blood of the thing forcing him to let go a spit into the dirt. Disgusting. The Turned tasted like death, and rot. It seemed that this one in particular hadn't been getting enough live food. It was weaker. Aggressive and mad still, but not impossible to handle. Starkov quickly darted back to maintain distance. The Turned may have lost their minds, but he'd not risk the same trick twice. One broken leg was already inflicted by sheer luck. If it were stronger, the thing could have kicked him into a tree... The warrior settled back, taking the brief moment to think on a plan of action.

One wolf against a Turned? Foolish. One conscious wolf and one unconscious wolf against a Turned? Even more foolish. Starkov didn't like this, but decided to take the next rational move. Call for back up. As soon as the Turned seem to pause in its attempts to come at him, the male tipped his head and let out a low, baying howl. A distress signal to those who can hear it. And a warning to stay away for those who aren't strong enough to help. Because when one Turned was around, who knew if it had company? Starkov would rather get his company here first.

Huh? Starkov's ears pricked as he heard movement behind him, though he didn't dare take his eyes off of the Turned. The creature was hobbling towards him shakily, but getting closer nonetheless. Starkov circled round with a warning growl at the Turned, though his attention flicked to Zeke. About time...!

"Rise and shine, stranger," Starkov greeted, his tone a mix of annoyance, sarcasm, and relief. "Got enough beauty sleep?" He found it rather funny that one could stay so dead to the world with a Turned breathing down their neck. Now that Zeke seemed to be kind of awake, the pair might have a chance of fleeing. But where to? It wasn't a smart move to lead the Turned to the Normal Pack's camp. Not when there were so many liabilities around there. Yet Starkov doubted that the sleepy-looking stranger hidden behind the tree would be of much help taking this Turned down.

Starkov spared a glance behind him, gaze narrowing. 'My bad'? Really? It was a little surprising to see the other so nonchalant about almost being mauled to death, if Starkov hadn't intervened here. The warrior looked confused as he noticed Zeke... digging in the dirt. A nervous tick? Apology? Starkov glanced away, shaking confusion out of his head and focusing on the Turned instead.

Yet when the thing snapped at him, Starkov dodged just fine... But the Turned would never have been able to reach him anyway, seeming to smack into some kind of invisible, yet physical wall. ...Eh? Starkov stared at the empty space. "You're not one of them, are you?" he asked Zeke stiffly. Although the aggression dulled slightly when he considered the other's state, falling and barely able to walk just like the Turned. But the Turned would definitely win if Zeke was left alone.

"Don't answer, actually," Starkov hissed, knowing that it'd probably affect his judgement. "Can you run?"
