Breeding encounters in explore?

Breeding encounters in explore?

Just was talking about wolvden with my roommates who play and we had a little thought!

We wondered about how cool/interesting it would be if as a rare random encounter when exploring, you could breed with a fellow player's random pack wolves to result in a surprise litter for you or for them depending on your lead's gender. I know how this could also be really annoying LOL, but i love the idea of a random encounter that means i have a surprise litter in my den from a cool stranger! Maybe to avoid hard feelings you can choose to accept it?

Just a thought! I didnt want to post but they made meeeeee! no idea if anyone has already said something similar, if so, im sorry!

Sounds aweful.  I want to chose who breeds my females, or if I want to breed them at all.

I feel like that would be a lot to implement, and a lot of people already struggle to feed all their pups now. I'll have to say no. Maybe a stray wolf pup you have the option take in? And maybe it's always a runt or something but you could get a nice base

I actually love this idea! If it were that I could accept or decline a wolf that wants to breed, that would be pretty fun! Like, if I had nothing better to do and I can spare the extra space, I think that could be a fun option and if I have pretty pups, then it was a cute little surprise! Definitely agree with this idea, it sounds fun to me. <3

I suppose if it was entirely optional on both sides it could be fun!  Might be a bit much to implement for something most people probably wouldn't really want to use though...

LD has the hybrid encounters that don't effect other players just your account. So, I suppose if you came across a coyote or dog you could get a litter. Maybe event wolves. I am assuming that these are going to be introduced in the future (there's no evidence, I am literally just assuming).

But I don't support just being able to give people "surprise" litters or others using my wolves to produce pups for themselves.

It would probably also be a nightmare to code for consenting players.

If your lead was a female, would this surprise litter take up her heat and trigger the 4 day pregnancy and 20 day breeding cool down? Same with any female wolf in your pack. Because that's a lot of time for someone to wait for a totally random litter. Most people plan their female's heats and breeding partners carefully to avoid wasting all of that time.

No other male in a pack can breed bar the breeding male so what if your lead is that wolf? Do you suddenly lose energy out of nowhere from fathering a litter with a random wolf?

This also detracts from a player's breeding male. Many players depend on the funds that studding can bring and have the option to reject a request if they don't want their wolf's genes mixed with a particular female.

While random results can be fun, I feel like this idea, as it currently stands, has more cons than pros. It is a cute idea. I just wonder if you've truly thought through the logistics behind it.
