Yalaktinos didn't shy away from the little display of affection. He returned it gently nuzzling the other trying his best to comfort him.

"I will, I promise you, my dear friend. I'll take care of her as my own. It was a great honor to have you as my friend. I'm truly sorry for everything, that I couldn't protect you or even your mate," Yalaktinos said wrapping his head gently around the other male's. His friend's passing tore his heart apart, but he also knew that it was inevitable.

"Rest my dear friend. You did well, brave warrior," Yalaktinos whispered closing his eyes and allowing the corners of his eyes to get moist. He would miss him and he would always remember him.

(Poor him and poor Lilith )

his ear slightly twitched showing he had heard and then he breathed one more time and not again.

(omfg )

Frost and the rest of the herd had gone deep into the forest somewhere that frost had found earlier.Lilith was asleep next to her and frost was watching for threats along with a few bucks that she though could do a good job.She had heard multiple shots and hopped everyone was ok but part of her knew something wasn't.

Lilith lifted her head and frost nuzzled her side to help her fall back asleep.Which she didΒ  falling asleep in seconds nestled next to frost.

Yalaktinos spend few more moments with his fallen friend until he was sure that his spirit was completely gone. He knew that he couldn't stay for too long, the humans would be back in a minute to claim their prize and if they would capture him too, what would happen to his herd? Reluctantly Yalaktinos got up leaning his head down to nuzzle his friend once more.

"Farewell, dear friend," he said his voice breaking slightly towards the end before the male turned around. He stopped for a moment to gather himself together before lifting his head up and sniffing the air. Finding the scent of his herd, he started to follow it with slow yet noble strides hiding his pain behind many layers of ice that his heart carried.

Once he reached his herd, Yalaktinos looked over them all silently scanning them over and calculating them in case the hunters had gotten more victims.

"Is everyone alright?" he asked from the nearest buck yet his eyes were dull and filled with pain. However, the cause of the pain wasn't physical. It pained him that he hadn't been able to protect and save his friend no matter how he had wished to do so.

The buck dipped his head in respect before speaking "yes me a few other bucks and that white doe got everyone out actually you should of seen her,She was running about waking everyone and getting them moving" he said turning his head to gaze at the pretty doe that was quietly laying with Lilith while watching and listening for danger."heh if I didn't already have my mate I'd probably go for her" he chuckled then re focused "Anyway she led us to this spot and then made sure we didn't leave anyone and picked a few bucks to help watch I was one of them" he said

Yalaktinos chuckled softly. "She is an extraordinary doe then and she holds the whole herd in debt for saving everyone," as soon as he had said that, pain flashed through his whole being and he dipped his head in respect. "You two would have made a great pair. Thank you for your help today, it was greatly appreciated," the stag said giving a small pained smile to the other buck before he slowly made his way to the white doe and the sleeping fawn.

Approaching them, he slowly dropped his head and nuzzled the sleeping little fawn in the most loving way. He would make sure that she was happy and protected, he would take care of her and watch her to grown up to a beautiful young doe. He only wished that her parents could have been there to witness that too.

Frost stayed silent watching him with her deep blue eyes she seemed to know even without being told.-poor Lilith- she thought looking down at the fawn curled close to her. Then she looked at the stag she didn't know him at all yet when she looked at him she could tell he was good, far different from many stags she had met.

"Thank you for helping to lead my herd to safety on this fateful day," Yalaktinos said pulling away from the fawn, but he still stayed close. He had no idea how to explain to Lilith what had happened. How could one tell such a young and innocent creature that he beloved father wouldn't be coming back? Would she be angry at him and disappointed in him? Of course she would, she had every right to feel that way. He had disappointed his whole herd.

His body demanded him to lay down, his leg needed to rest, yet the male chose to keep standing. It was almost like he was guarding Lilith while he stared into the distance blinking once in a while.

Frost looked at him for a moment " it's nothing really,I've had to evacuate my herd or well used to have to often due to hunters" she said "been hit a time or two as well but look at me a free spirit" she said carefully standing "now you seem tired and your definitely hurt so go and lay down your free to lay here but I will force you down if I must" she said sternly to the stag

(Girls gonna force him to heal XD)

Yalaktinos looked at the doe his eyes narrowing a bit at the stern tone she had. However, he didn't know was it because of the pain or because the grief had taken him over, but the stag found himself very slowly and carefully laying down on the cool grass near Lilith. He was breathing heavier than usually and for a moment kept his eyes closed. He opened them once more when the wave of pain had passed.

"You are lucky to have survived twice from the hands of the hunters," Yalaktinos said looking at the fawn with gentle yet sorrowful gaze. He had no idea how to take care of little ones, he had never gotten a chance to have his own fawns.

(Seems so XD)
