Kaiyora sighed. "While you have a point, not every mage is the same. If the mage I'm choosing to take on is in fact a liability, that's on me and my own problem to deal with."

Raine just continued to glare. That was correct. They had no other thing to argue about. They looked up on the platform. Let me join you and prove that mages are a huge liability. No matter who they are. They said, fully ready to pretty much harrass the mage.

"On one condition. You don't harrass any of my crew. That includes the mage." She knew what she was saying. She also did not trust the human one bit. "If you are disrespectful or harmful to the crew, I will dispose of you, which goes for the rest of the crew as well. I will not be having liabilities."

Fine. Raine huffed as they listened. Harassing was the fun part. But they could do without harassment. They could absolutely do.

Kaiyora sighed and vanished.

Location: The Atterax - Balcony

Kaiyora reappeared just as Lydia was about to spit an insult at Rover. The child shut up under the captain's knowing scowl. "Alright. We'll be having a new member join us. Be nice, don't kill anybody, don't make me need to dispose of any of you. Everybody got it?" She was still a bit irritated as she gave Lydia a very targeted glance.

Raine eventually made it up to the Balcony, making sure to stand far away from the mage, glaring for a second before introducing themselves. "I'm Raine. Please use they/them with me. They said, dipping their head, after all their talking they seemed a bit shy now, under the gaze of the fellow crew that they would be spending 6 months with. They kind of just realized they would be spending 6 months with a mage. They were going to admit that they were a bit scared. It would not go unnoticed that Raine would often look over to Edwin, somewhat scared the mage would randomly combust with magic, but instead, Edwin was looking at them curiously.

Edwin looked at Raine with a tilt of his head. This one had a magical signature. Not usually seen by most, but easily seen by Edwin, who has trained in magic since he was old enough to walk. The thing about this magical signature is that it was as if Raine had never used their power, not even once on accident. And that was a very very hard thing to accomplish. Many mages accidentally use magic all the time, when their sick or angry, when they're sad. Really any strong emotion can make magic appear accidently.

Lydia studied Raine for a moment them spoke. "You look weird." "Lydia." The child shut up even though she had just been about to introduce herself. Kaiyora glared at the child. Rover nodded a greeting to Raine but said nothing.

(I'm giving up on length for right now, not much I can think of to add)

Raine felt a bit uncomfortable now given what had been said. Did they look weird? They had tan skin and short mint-green hair, along with mint-coloured eyes to match. And the outfit they were wearing could be considered weird they guess. But they sighed and just didn't respond.

Edwin looked at the child again, why was that child such a b!tch. He wondered in his head with a disapproving frown, crossing his arms and tapping his foot against the platform floor, wondering how they would all get along after 6 whole months with each other, it would either be incredibly bad or really good. He hoped it was the latter.

Kaiyora studied her crew for a moment longer, her gaze lingering on Lydia then on Raine then she turned. "Keep up. We should be on our way." She had gone from annoyed to more business-oriented in the span of about thirty seconds. No need to stay hostile for too long. Rover followed her silently.

Raine followed behind Rover, not wanting to be too close to the mage, keeping a distance they deemed good.

Edwin followed after, noticing how Raine felt uncomfortable with him he stayed a ways away from Raine. Not wanting to make the other uncomfortable around them. After all, once again, they would be spending around 6 months alone, and would most likely learn to get along so they could be coordinated in any fights they were bound to get into while exploring other planets.
