Rose, was an ordinary human up until a few weeks ago. She was headed to camp half-blood by foot after her parents refused to be even near her after being claimed as an Apollo heir, scared for their own and her spoiled little brothers' lives, because it was a chance that they could get attacked. And they didn't trust Rose to protect them. Of course, they didn't. They never trusted her in anything.
Right now she was on a dirt road leading to the woods that were known as Camp Half-Blood. Walking without looking back, angry at her father and mother. And even more angry at herself for so easily leaving the world she had left behind her whole life. Was pretty much gone now, and she was having a hard time accepting that.
Rose sighed and ran a hand through her short black hair with bright red highlights. Rose looked behind her to her bow and arrows, which she took everywhere with her. She had always been unnaturally good at archery, she guessed it was just a bonus of being the half-daughter of Apollo. Rose looked ahead again, looking at the map that she had been given with directions to the Camp, walking on.
(Is a bit short but am still on lunch and busy lol)
A young-appearing man walked down the road, what appeared to be a small plume of snow sprinkling up from the ground where he stepped. He didn't seem bothered by the cold wind at all. "Need a guide, madam?" He called to Rose as he approached her. The man wore a very clearly thin orange shirt with the Camp Halfblood logo on the shoulder. He also wore dark blue shorts despite the cold. His hair was white, and his eyes were the color of an iced over lake, his skin pale in contrast to a sheet of paper.
Rose looked him up and down, her eyebrow raised. "And you are?" Rose asked, not wanting to follow a stranger she did not know, she had researched and pretty much knew the names of all of the teachers at the camp, so she would know if the name of this man did not match. Rose stood taller, her hand tensed and ready to grab her bow and arrow and shoot him in the chest. Of course, it would do her no good even if she did, because then she would have to explain a murder, which would be horrible. Or would it? Well either way she would not hurt/kill him unless absolutely necessary.
He sighed, taking a second to study her body language. "My name is Sokratis Petras. I only recently got to the camp. I was previously at Camp Jupiter." He explained, holding his hands up in surrender.
Rose narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "And how should I know that you are telling the truth?" Rose asked, looking him all over, not trusting him one bit, her hand inched towards her quiver and bow, itching for a reason to bury a arrow in his chest, or arm, or anywhere really. Chest and head are the most effective, stomach can down him easily along with crotch, although that's tricky because of aim. Rose mused in her head while staring at him. Awaiting his answer.
"I mean, you don't know me so it's reasonable you wouldn't trust me. My father is Boreas, Greek and Roman god of winter storms. If you promise you won't go for your bow within thirty seconds of me moving, I can show you," he offered. He knew damn well she was sizing him up.
Rose narrowed her eyes again but relented, standing up straight and looking him in the eye. "One wrong move and I will spear your head through." Rose said before crossing her hands over her chest. Waiting for him to prove to her that he was a half-blood. Then she might consider going with him. Rose wondered what cabin he would go into, since Boreas isn't one of the 12 featured at the Camp. Maybe he would be put into 11 like the kids who haven't been claimed yet. Probably. Hopefully. Rose was one of the three Apollo children from what Rose had learned.
He nodded and took a quarter-sized coin from his pocket, holding it out for her to see. "I had one of the Hephaestus kids make it for me. One side is Camp Jupiter's symbol, the other Camp Halfblood's." He explained. A little snow came off his sickly white skin. "And the snow probably helps my case." He muttered.
Rose thought for another moment before giving a nod. "Fine. I believe you I guess." Rose huffed, and started walking again, towards the forest leading to the Camp.
"They closed that entrance. Something about the Great Pine acting up. I should probably show you the way, shouldn't I?" He suggested gently. He knew it was highly unlikely she knew he was lying, and even though he did have a little tell, he figured she probably wouldn't know what it was yet.
