"It is," he wasn't joking. He pushed the door open and was met by a rather large golden hound, which bounded up to him and tried to knock him over. He laughed and knelt to pat the dog. "This is Aurum, one of the Praetor's two hounds. Is your master home, Aurum?" He asked the hound. The dog let out a mechanical bark. "I- is that a yes or a no?"

Rose laughed, seeing the dog. "He's pretty." Rose said, finding herself wanting to pet the dog but knowing that was vvery rude unless she asked, plus. She was a new person.

He sighed. "Aurum, can she pet you?" He asked the hound. Aurum noticed Rose and immediately bared his golden teeth. Sokratis put a hand on the hound's muzzle. "Quit. Where's your master?" Just as he asked the question, a woman's voice spoke from a doorway nearby. " Sokratis Petras. You're late." Sokratis froze, his hand dropping from the hound's muzzle. He ducked his head. "Praetor Ramírez-Arellano, I can explain."

Rose looked up, near the doorway, she tilted her head, looking confused, but also highly intrigued, she was curious, blinking owlishly at the doorway, wondering what kind of person would walk through the door.

Out stepped a young woman, younger even than Sokratis. She had long brown hair, fair skin, and striking black eyes. Beside her walked a silver hound similar to Aurum. "Explain yourself then, Petras." "I had a mishap at Camp Halfblood. But I was able to acquire one of their own to join us," he tilted his head in Rose's direction. "A child of Apollo. Decent with her bow." Reyna studied Rose, then spoke to Aurum. "Auruum, oppugnare puella." Sokratis' eyes widened but he didn't dare move as Aurum leapt at Rose.

Rose's eyes widened and she leaped back, hands going to her bow and arrow as she aimed and fired, jumping up and letting the light hit her and making her seemingly vanish from sight.

The arrow fell to the ground, not even denting the hound, which landed a few inches from where she had been standing. Aurum turned and wandered over to Reyna, giving a bark. Reyna nodded. "You've chosen well, Sokratis. She will be beneficial to our cause. You may rise." She added the last bit considering the man hadn't stood yet. He stood slowly, keeping an eye on Reyna and the hounds.

Rose appeared a bit behind Sokratis, had been moving so quietly she could not be detected until she appeared, bow still raised with a distrusting glint in her eyes, which seemed narrowed almost like a cat would.

Sokratis glanced behind himself. "You're fine. She was testing you. She does that to everybody. Hell, she did it to me." He said it so casually it sounded like he experienced the hound's attacks pretty often. Reyna simply watched the two, her hounds sitting beside her like Aurum hadn't just tried to attack Rose.
