the queen's eyebrows raised as she let a small amount of surprise slip through her usual calm demeanor. she then let out a laugh and nodded her head, "I see. well I hope you two won't distract each other then.." she chuckled once more before adding, "speaking of which, vasishta, you must hurry. narmada is a drop away from ripping the fur off those healers."

vasishta's ears raised in surprise from vera's comment and she let out an embarrassed laugh before nodding her head at the queen's order. "yes- yes of course," she stuttered before turning to vera, "it seems like the shaman is in a mood. are you sure that you want to pester her?"

"good luck with your endeavors. both of you. narmada and the healers are their own battles," the queen joked with a smile, "and for this 'scouting mission', when do you two expect to depart. please do not tell me tonight."

vasishta shook her head, "vera said that we'd leave when her heal is wound in a day or two, right?" the wolf then turned to Vera expectantly, her tail slowly and ever so slightly swaying from side to side.

"i see. take it easy then," the queen said with a dip of her head, "i'll let you two go. varuna and i also have some matters to discuss, some plans to raise spirits so i hope you'll stick around for a few days longer, vera." the queen flashed a smile before turning away to return to her den.

vasishta dipped her head in a goodbye as the queen left before raising her head in curiosity to what those 'plans' could be. she then turned to vera and said, "are you ready to go into the serpent's den?"

the wolf slowly followed behind vera, ears pinned back as she approached the den. "your personal escort is here! and vera," she called out gently.

the two healers were already waiting in front of the den while angry voice could be heard from further within the den. narmada's voice could be heard scolding, "don't forget to find some lavender and sage stems, they should be sprouting now but don't take too much, we need it for spring! and make sure to carefully inspect whatever you may think is tansy!". but at the mention of vera, the shaman abruptly stopped her rant to walk out. her normally anxious demeanor calmed for a moment before she dipped her head as a a greeting, "vera, welcome back." as she slowly raised her head, the shaman slowly added, "same with you vasishta.."
