Community Update #163

Posted 2 days ago
Can't really answer the poll. I like the story line and the art, but the constant bugs are taking some fun away from it. I see a bug fix for the event multiple times a day every day when there should be zero. You should beta test your event before launching

I love the event, the art is amazing and the storyline is already pretty interesting in my opinion! And I LOVE that you can cast spells, especially the ones for energy, food, amusement and illness XD

And holy, that new stud is GORGEOUS!

The poll is not really constructed in a way that allows to give us feedback, it should really have a bigger variety of options.

In regards to the poll, I gotta say it doesn't really allow for much feedback so I'll write it here! I love the storyline and the art is gorgeous, but there were so many bugs that I was at some points seriously considering giving up and just skipping this event, because it felt really discouraging :( I do understand some bugs happen and maybe the event had to be rushed out to get it out in time so not enough testing was done, but it's just something to consider for future events.

I have to say though, the spells are a very fun addition to gameplay and the story is compelling, I can't wait for how it ends :)

edit: also forgot to mention that I wish there were more ways to earn effigies other than in explore. maybe more daily requests or something similar? because right now it's a grueling process that requires either sitting on wolvden for hours a day, or buying like 10 guaranas a day

I know it's probably not intentional, but I feel like the fact that the poll doesn't even allow for a soft "no" option is really going to muddy the results.

I loved the idea of the storyline in theory. The art was quite well-done, and the plotline is intriguing. But frankly, the slow progression and low encounter rate makes this event feel like a slog, and the amount of bugs has made this event borderline unplayable.

I still haven't gotten to see a single sentence of story content released after the sixth, because I missed rolling on the 7th. When I rolled a few days later, I wasn't able to access spells or see the content I missed, I was just told "come back on the 11th".

Now, when I rolled today, again, no story - I just see a page that tells me to find 10 encounters in the wild with absolutely zero context.

I am sure the coders, writers, and artists worked their butts off for this event. But I question the need for every event to have a "story". For example, Cataclysm may not have a traditional story in the same way events like Coigreach do, but it still has lore and cool encounters, and plenty of daily quests to keep us busy.  I feel like the need for this "story" content has put unnecessary pressure on the artists and coders, which would be better directed toward game balancing and making sure the event itself is running smoothly.

TL;DR: I have personally not been enjoying this event despite originally being very excited for it, and I wish there was an option in the poll to express this. All the best.
