Name: Arbor Age: 21 Gender: Female Sexuality: Pansexual Backstory: The unlikely pairing of a Timberjack and a Death Song resulted in a hybrid dragon unlike any other. Abandoned shortly after hatching, she was found by a pack of Speed Stingers who adopted her as one of their own. She quickly learned to navigate the dangers of the forest and developed a close bond with Zip (the speed stinger OC who is crazy about courting females. You know her). As Arbor grew, she discovered a unique talent for manipulating wood. Fascinated by the fallen trees left behind by storms or other dragons, she started to experiment, carving simple shapes and gradually developing more complex designs. Her creations became more ornate, using her Amber spit to hold things together. Appearance: - Body: Primarily Death Song in build. Sleek, serpentine body plan, with a long neck and similarly long tail. Her scales are a patchwork of colors, mimicking the patterns often found in wood grain. Shades of brown, cream, and dark forest green blend together, punctuated by occasional streaks of amber and russet, especially around her wings and muzzle. - Wings: The most obvious Timberjack influence. Her wings are significantly larger than a pure Death Song's, wider and more powerful, allowing for sustained flight and greater maneuverability in forested areas. The edges of the wings are fringed with what looks like rough bark texture, instead of the usual smooth membrane. - Head & Face: Retains the Death Song's elongated snout, but with a slightly blunter, more Timberjack-like jawline. Her eyes are a piercing green-gold, flecked with amber. Her mouth doesn't possess the gaping maw of a pure Death Song, but can still open wide enough to spray her weaker, amber-like substance. Personality: - Creative & Ingenious: Arbor is driven by a deep need to create. She spends most of her time near logging areas or wherever trees are felled, scavenging discarded pieces of wood. She's constantly experimenting, trying to craft anything she can from the fallen trees. - Solitary but Kind: Despite her artistic pursuits, Arbor is generally a solitary dragon. She prefers the quiet of the forests and the rhythmic sounds of carving wood. However, she's not inherently unfriendly. Once she trusts someone, she shows a surprising kindness, often gifting them with her creations (though sometimes her creations are hilariously impractical). - Frustrated by Limitations: Arbor is constantly battling the limitations of her hybrid nature. She's frustrated that her amber is weak, her fire is less potent, and her creations often fall apart due to her limited physical strength. This frustration can manifest as bursts of temper, usually directed at inanimate objects, but she quickly calms down and reverts to her work. - Protective of Forests: While she uses fallen timber, Arbor deeply cares for forests. She understands their importance and becomes fiercely protective of any forest she considers her territory, using her fire and flight to ward off careless humans or dragons. She sees herself as a caretaker, using what is already lost to create something new. - Curious & Observant: Arbor is highly observant, meticulously studying the patterns in wood grain, the way sunlight filters through leaves, and the movements of wildlife. This sharp eye for detail fuels her artistic endeavors and also makes her surprisingly perceptive of others' emotions. Abilities: - Flight: Enhanced flight capabilities due to her Timberjack-influenced wings. - Amber (Weakened): Can produce a sticky, amber-like substance that slows down targets, but doesn't enthrall them. - Unique Fire: A long-burning fire that produces a sweet-smelling smoke. It's not as hot as Timberjack fire, but it's effective for defense and signaling. - Woodworking: A natural talent for carving and shaping wood. She's constantly learning and improving her craft. - Enhanced Senses: Highly developed senses of smell and hearing, useful for locating fallen trees and detecting potential threats. Weaknesses: - Water: Like most fire-breathing dragons, water weakens her fire and reduces her ability to fly effectively. - Close-Range Combat: Her serpentine build makes her less effective in close-quarters combat. - Emotional Sensitivity: Though she initially appears aloof, Arbor is emotionally sensitive and easily hurt by criticism or rejection of her work. - Dependence on Timber: Her constant need for wood can sometimes lead her to take risks in dangerous situations.
