Wolf variations NOT Hybrids

Wolf variations NOT Hybrids

So not sure if anyone has brought it up. (Likely) but what about adding other wolf types?

Examples would be like:
Ethiopian wolf - they look like shiba markings or a fox and tend to keep that shorter wolf fur look. Could make them with a diffrent fur length.

Artic wolves - born that brown or black color and age up into white shades. They also tend to be smaller than the standard gray wolf and could make them fluffier!

Russian/Eurasian Wolves - are massive if you didn't want to do dier wolves these are a great compromise.

Red wolf - these are distant relatives to coyote as well, and a perfect way to add some of that Coy look without calling it a hybird.

All these could add some cool varients if you breed them together or just a cool chance of what parent they will take after!

Actually red wolves are different than Mexican wolves.

Red wolf, does look more like a coyote.  Short fur, lives in North Carolina.  Pure red wolves are extremely hard to find, making them highly endangered.

Mexican wolf, shorter, floofy with smaller ears. Also highly endangered.  But not a red wolf.

i was actually thinking about this some time ago. i think rather than hybrids, the addition of wolf breeds could be much more appealing.

i think if wolf breeds were added into the game somehow, though, it would need to have some sort of value. it guess it could just be a difference in lineart? i like the idea of having wolf breeds, but would really need to evaluate what they bring to the table...
hybrids on lioden are sought after and bred for because there is only a small chance that the hybrid's "mutation" will pass. because of their difficulty to breed, they have a higher value.

so would different wolf breeds bring different perks or traits? not something that is just different in lineart.
for example:
arctic or tundra wolves could have easier time hunting and surviving in the taiga biome. on the other hand, though, they have a slight penalty in warmer months and biomes. mexican wolves could have an easier time thriving in hotter biomes like the desert.

i really think that in order to add the concept of wolf breeds to the game, there would need to be a solid benefit to it other than different lineart. i can't imagine wolf breeds becoming much of a breeding project thing like hybrids would be.

Could do that, making them rare or harder to get would be decent option as well.

I think the line art would attract alot of people different fur lengths larger frames and such.

But added benefit would be good even if they get an extra point with lvs for example.
Or  larger breeds being a better attacker and HP. But they might have a less desirable traits for speeds and agility. Kind of like a "class system" but breeds instead.  Or maybe just higher success rates in certain roles...

Hello!

Per the Game Development Guidelines, the developers are not currently accepting suggestions for mutations or variants, so we will lock this thread. You are welcome to re-post your idea when the developers open to these sorts of suggestions!
