It was a clear day in autumn and Reythyra was roaming about the edges of her territory. The air was crisp and the crunch of dead leaves under her paws made it another calming venture.

Or it would have been, had her apprentice decided not to ruin the quiet.

"Too slow, old lady," Aluria barked in laughter, running circles around Reythyra. She hopped and skipped around like she was a young pup again, entirely too energetic.

"I'm not that old yet," Reythyra replied with a quiet huff. Though it was true she was getting up there in years, she still had plenty of life left in her. "And you should be resting, Aluria."

Aluria laughed again. "Are you kidding? I've never felt more alive than in this moment."

A new mother's high, Reythyra figured. "Your pups—"

"Are already fed and sleeping soundly under the watch of their pupsitters," Aluria interrupted. "You should live a little, old lady."

Reythyra nearly rolled her eyes. But Aluria wasn't wrong. The day was yet young, and she could spare a chance to relax a little.

"Fine, fine," Reythyra said. "Race you?"

And then she bolted forward at full speed, Aluria's laughter ringing behind her as the other wolf followed in her footsteps.

They ran through the forest out into an open area, when Reythyra came to a sudden stop. There was a scent here, another wolf's. One she didn't know, at that.

Naturally Aluria crashed right into her and sent them both sprawling to the ground.

"Hey, watch it, old lady," Aluria said, picking herself up from the ground and shaking her coat free of dirt.

"You should pay more attention," Reythyra groused, picking herself up. "Don't you smell that? There's another wolf around here."

Aluria huffed, entirely nonchalant. "Then let's go and meet them," she said. She sniffed the air and began heading in the direction of the scent.

Reythyra sighed and followed. Her apprentice was entirely too reckless sometimes.

WispMarble sat in a clearing, Messing with the flowers, trying to find herbs for her pack.

She smelt the other wolves as they came closer.Wisp lept up and looked around,

She turned and started to walk away in hopes of not having any trouble with other packs.Wisp was picking up the herbs she had gathered rather quickly.

The clearing they reached was full of flowers of various kinds, with scents that ranged from the sweet smell of regular flowers to the slightly bitter tang of useful herbs. They spotted a wolf in the center of the plants, already turned to leave.

"Hello there," Aluria called to the stranger as she raced up to them, her body twitching from excitement. "What brings you here?"

Reythyra sighed and stayed back a ways to not scare the other wolf off. "Greetings," she said calmly, in contrast to her apprentice.

Wisp stopped quickly and studied the white wolf.

"..hello." She looked around at the other wolf. "I- well I'm just grabbing some herbs for my pack.." Wisp mumbled softly. Her tail was tucked slightly, she assumed the wolves meant no harm,  but theres no reason not to cautious.

"What brings you two here?"

Before Aluria could launch into a rapid fire explanation of their entire life stories, Reythyra cut in.

"We often wander the expanse of our territory to make sure things are running smoothly," Reythyra said. "Though we may have wandered out of our borders a little while ago."

"See, old lady? You're losing your touch," Aluria said, and turned to the new wolf. "I noticed we went off a while ago, but I wanted to see when she'd notice."

"Anyway," Reythyra said, feeling a little miffed at that, "my name is Reythyra, and I am the leader of the Wildfate. The wolf before you is my apprentice, Aluria."

"We rarely meet strangers these days, so it's nice to meet you,," Aluria said and her tail wagged.

Wisp sighed and gave a weak smile.

"That's alright. We aren't Hostile wolves."

Wisp shook the grass from her fur and looked at the older wolf.

"My name is WispMarble, a pupsitter of the pack Stepping Stone Stars." She bowed her head respectfully at the leader of the other pack.  "its nice to meet you aswell Aluria"

"Well met, WispMarble," said Reythyra, who sent a look to Aluria before the pale wolf responded in kind.

"Well met," Aluria echoed, though her head tilted. "What's a pupsitter doing gathering herbs? Isn't that a herbalist's work?"

Reythyra knew their own herbalist was very protective over his line of work. He would not stand for another wolf doing foraging for him, but he had always been the aggressive type. This WispMarble seemed passive and friendly. Perhaps the herbalist of her pack was not one to look down upon a helping hand.

(Sorry for the delay, I'm currently out of the house and WiFi is scarce.)

(Thats alright! Im patient :))

WispMarble Laughed. "Well, A lot of our pups had a bit of a flu, So she asked me to go out since I'm not watching the pups"
WIsp said, With a smile and glad her Herbalist was not so aggressive.

Wisp gestured to the herbs "I'm not grabbing a lot, just some to help with the medicine."

"Ah, the flu is a nasty illness," Reythyra said, remembering her own bouts with the flu. "It's no worry, take as much as you need. We may have some herbs to spare as well, should you need some more."

Aluria nodded. "I'm sure I can get Tasar to agree to give some stuff up. It's for the good of pups!"

Reythyra doubted Aluria's words would sway the herbalist, but he would respect her own word as the pack's Alpha.
