fair enough lol but nah, i'm missing riding and working with them. went from 7 horses almost daily to three horses once a week, and not even the discipline i'm most knowledgeable in lmao so it's a bit of a struggle at times. plus, with my last year of school coming up, i want something that'll actually motivate me

it's better than nothing at least!! that's all i used to do but then was doing lessons twice a week and then i was hired to teach kids, so working almost every day - just two days of the week i wasn't there lol

then we had to shut down the business, still focused on my own training and did a few competitions but when i lost my horse i ended up pretty much stopping for a couple months. then the horse i use for showjumping was half sold to the other girl i ride with so i'm barely up there anymore. found the new place with the 3 horses but it's all western disciplines so not really my style lol

but yes, hoping to sort it out before i go back to school lol doing that and also writing. managed 3k words somehow, so now just gotta edit and such

wow that was alot- I'm not the BEST rider yet but I can trot,learning jumping,and still love it so see how this goes xD

that's so good to start though!! trust, trotting is the *worst* part, i've been riding for like 5 years now and i still fail at trot sometimes, if the horse throws in an off stride i'm just completely goneee lmao once you've got that down, and once you're relatively confident in the canter, you'll be flying!!

I actually enjoy trotting,its a nice speed,but yea if I mess up I have to slow to a walk and restart most of the time

oh it's absolutely my favourite gait!! you can just go forever and if you get a really nice forward trot, i just thrive. i've learnt riding on standardbreds (harness horses/trotters, whatever you call them over there lol) so the two standies i ride have an amazing trot but an awful canter lol. still training one of them but my main jumping horse was retrained before us so he does a good bit better, he's the one i've competed on. could probably find some photos somewhere if you want to see lol only competed at 60/70cm, he pretty much maxes out at 80cm which is a bit sad for me but i'm hoping i can eventually get a proper jumper up and going

you'll get there eventually!! trust me though, you want somewhere with a stable, and ESPECIALLY if you get a thoroughbred, you *need* at least 2k ready in vet bills and you need a trusted vet. also, feed is super super important. it's a lot of work, and don't feel guilty or anything for not having a horse because if what you're doing now works, keep it like that - don't put too much pressure on yourself to get to a certain level or anything x

YESS you absolutely can, i NEED more people into writing and riding lmaoo

and that's so good, i did NOT (but i also don't like shoeing horses unless needed and i trimmed the horses hooves myself so it worked out farrier wise lol) so i'm glad you're more prepared than i was. despite what everyone said, i adored my thoroughbred and the next horse i get will probably be another ottb, so don't shy away from them too much cause they're absolutely worth the trouble and if you've got a plan, you'll be so sweet lol
