babe if i can put a post out asking about jobs on multiple platforms AND turn a guy down in the span of a few hours, you can ask them!! and the worst they'll say is like 'we've got enough people working at the moment' but even then, they'll know you're interested and if anything happens they'll probably ask you if you're still up for it!!

i've got school too!! last year so about to be busy busy and i only get home at about 4pm!! believe me, most people will take whatever chance they get to have some help. plus, people tend to feed later in the day and often want rugs changed from daytime ones to night ones!!

you miss all the chances you don't take and even if they turn you down at first, it shows that you're actually interested. plus, all horse people are painfully awkward so they'll understand, and it shows that you're being genuine - this is from actual experience!! it'll be worth it in the end, even if it doesn't work out quite how you imagine

I get home at 4 pm every day,and that's just cus my bus is SLOW-  I could ask my trainer Abt it I suppose, and if fully impossible could do it through the summer cus I'm to old for legit any close by camps

ha glad I'm not the only awkward person XD also,am I the only one who takes like 30 fudging minutes to groom and tack up? like my trainer always scolds me on my slowness XD

exactly!! you've got options and that's exactly how i started, helping with day events and then with camps. just build it up, even if you're not working with horses right away - i had to deal with all the kids first before i got to the horses lol

and honestly, when i've got the time, i love to take my time. but most of the time i do NOT have the time and so it's just hooves + wherever the dirt is then up and go lmaoo

oh I've dealt with kids.. did a summer camp as a LIT (leader in training) wasn't even paid, but uh I was stuck with a bunch of 5-6 year olds- g r e a t time

oh yeah no I HAVE to do a good job grooming or I get snapped at,my trainers not lenient on that so yay,and I cant figure out the difference between all the dang saddles so-

yeah it's sooo fun isn't it lmao but nah you've got the experience there then, just need to get the horse side!!

and honestly, that's so good. i only let myself move through the horses that quickly cause atm i essentially work for myself and i KNOW that i can and will do a good job. if i have the time to do everything, best believe that horse will be shining. and it's just practice with saddles!! i still struggle with western saddles and i'm super anxious on placement so i always get someone to double check but once you know then just keep practicing and it'll be like second nature. it's just that visiting once a week is difficult, so i get that, but if you can try work for them you'll learn in no time!!
