The forest encircling the kingdom is dense and foreboding, its trees towering like ancient sentinels. Their branches intertwine, forming a canopy that filters the sunlight into ghostly patterns on the forest floor. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and decay, mingling with the faint aroma of wildflowers that stubbornly bloom amidst the destruction. A gentle breeze stirs, rustling the leaves and whispering secrets of the past. In the distance, a lone bird calls, its song a melancholic echo in the stillness. The kingdom, though ravaged and abandoned, holds a quiet dignity, as if waiting for the day when life and laughter will once again fill its empty halls. A shadow flits across the border of the forest, dipping in and out of the shadows. Light barely touched their figure. What was there? The shadow stopped moving, seemingly crouching down. There was a long pause before it moved again, moving out of the forest. A few steps away from the forest, they raised their hands, pulling off their hood. Their face was feminine, soft features hardened by the recent wars. Sharp green eyes were framed by silver hair. She moved towards one of the ruined houses quickly, moving smoothly. Almost to a point where she looked as if she just 'teleported' to the side of the house. Scooting to the edge of the house, she peered around the side, her eyes narrowed as they swept over the wreckage. After sweeping over most of the area, she stepped out from behind the house, walked up, and started to pick up some of the more useful weapons, scraps of fabric, coins, the lot of it. She occasionally went back to the forest and deposited what she picked up inside a bush, to later pick up. She continued this for a good minute, before returning to the bush and grabbing what she'd deposited there, putting what could fit into a bag into it, carrying the rest. After she got everything settled on her person, she slipped into the forest again, finding comfort in the ghostly patterns over the forest floor. |

The cold slap in the face the wind gave seemed to stir Innis Fletcher, covered in broken debris, her arm throbbing without rest. She wearily cracker her eyes, breathing erratically from claustrophobia, as she was trapped under the wood and rock from her own home. Innis tried to move her left arm, but it was clenched tight by the jaws of wood, and she could smell blood. She managed, with an effort, to wriggle free her useful right arm, pushing up at the thick beam that laid across her body. Panting and sweating, she desperately heaved at the wood, managing to flip it a little to the side, allowing her for more room. After throwing of rather medium sized cobblestone chunks, she had discovered that her arm had been impaled by and arrow. She panicked at the sight, the ugly wound at the base of where the arrow had pierced was sickening. She managed to heave herself in an upright position, sitting on the beam she had thrown off of her. Innis worked at the arrow in her arm, she broke the wood part, than began to push the arrow through her skin. The pain was nauseating, gritting her tests in pain as it finally went through. She quickly wrapped it tight with a shirt she had found on the floor and glanced around. Innis thought she would scream when she saw the pale bodies of her mother and father in the corner of their house, holding each other, an arrow imbedded in both of their skulls. She frantically stalked out of the what was now only a foundation of a house, vomiting near the crumbled walls. She looked toward the stables, in search of a horse, but all had been stolen. She swiftly ran back to her house, gathering the things she needed, including a knife her father had given her, and set out, purposely avoiding eye contact with her parents bodies. Innis slunk out of her village, saying a silent goodbye. (Gtg brb) |

Dusk The grey and white mare had taken a place in a field not to far from the ruined castle and buildings. She had chosen to stay far,far away from what had happened over there even after multiple horses with riders had galloped past. She lowered her head to graze her ears rotating around for sounds of danger. All was quiet though,no birds sang, and no rustling came from the brush or grasses. It was weird, but she'd gotten used to the quiet, now finding it peaceful. She didn't have a reason to leave,so why do that? Unless it became dangerous she planned to stay in the field of tasty grass and flowers.Turning her head to nibble on some kind of flower she shifted her weight her ears pricking at the sound of a bird flying over. Ember The young mountain lion was curiously exploring an old building,it smelled like dust and old wood but nothing else. She was decently high up the mountain searching for any scraps or easy prey but finding this old building caught her attention. After a bit of sniffing and finding nothing of interest she slipped back out and started towards the quiet sound of moving water.Coming across a stream she lapped up a bit scenting the air for any animals she could catch. |

He heart thumped like a drum, being the only thing she could hear in the dull silence. She cussed bitterly when she tripped and fell on a rock, landing on her injured arm. The young woman just laid there, falling into a hole of sorrow and loneliness. You have to keep on. A voice had told her. You are stronger than this. Innis scrambled up, collecting what little she had left, and plodded on, uncertain of what was before her. |

dusk The mare continued to graze her tail swishing away the occasional annoying fly.The peace was always nice, unless it got interrupted that is ember She stalked down the mountain once more after finishing up and scenting the air one more time. Her lithe body easily traversing the slopes and drops. She paused for a moment leaping upon a boulder and gazing down searching for something, anything to eat, heck she would resort to scavenging like a vulture if needed. |

Thick, twisting vines draped down from the branches overhead, creating a natural canopy that filtered the warm sunlight into a warm, ethereal glow. A small brook burbled quietly, its crystal waters winding through a bed of mossy rocks and fallen leaves. In the center of the clearing, a crude shelter had been constructed - a simple lean-to made of woven branches and animal pelts, its entrance partially obscured by a curtain of trailing ivy. Smoke drifted lazily from a small fire pit in front of the shelter, the flickering flames casting dancing shadows across the forest floor. It was a hidden sanctuary, a place of solace and refuge amidst the grim, ghostly trees that surrounded it. The air was heavy with the earthy scent of damp soil and decaying foliage, yet the atmosphere remained strangely peaceful, imbued with a sense of tranquility and solitude. Saege moved towards the shelter, placing her bag down on a pile of furs. Thankfully she'd made this crude-looking shelter before the kingdom went to shambles. Or else, she probably wouldn't have this little spot of peace. |

Ember The young mountain lion stalked farther along the ridge she was on catching the scent of,rabbit? Her stomach growled urging her on towards the scent. As the scent got stronger she crouched stalking closer to a small brown rabbit that was nibbling on something. |

Feeling through the forest floor with her feet, since her eyes were almost useless in the darkness, she found a shallow hole and log, and quickly flattened herself best she could. She could hear voices on to of the mighty horses, shouting like animals, and they thundered past, holding lanterns to shine their path. Innis sighed with relief when they pasted, but she was no fool. She waited an hour later before she moved. |
