I recently got back one of my stud prospects, and I want to put a MoD on him but I can't decide!! The man in question  : He is a Tlll Slate NBW  ANYWAY, I was stuck on which MoD to put on him, I have pointed and zerdava. Piebald Zerdava  PROS - Zerdava is favored more on site, so he'd be a successful stud - his colors pop out more with the white belly - no other zerdava slate NBW on site (as of now) CONS - I don't think it matches well :C Patches Pointed  PROS -colors match better with the black, so he looks a bit more pleasing to look at -idk I just think it's cute, matches with my past stud Tally Hall  CONS -less desired mutie, again Zerdava is more favored -we already have a pointed slate on site, not that I really mind ofc -the black is too dark especially on his face, feel like he doesn't stand out much That's it! i will say yes, Pointed does seem a bit dark on him, especially since he doesn't really have bright splotches of color (like my Vel does for example) to combat that, besides on his belly. it does really make his eyes pop out though!! i like how it melds in with his darker dorsal area too, and his legs. the Zerdava is definitely moreeeee favored for SURE hahaha, i LOVE how it looks, personally, on the right wolf. i really like how it makes his darker half pop, its like a horizontal "split" MoD on him  it really contrasts him in a good way, but i feel like it doesn't really bring his design together? maybe it's the awkward angle the neck splits off at, or the pink lips from the piebald. it's a super hard decision goodness  but i do think i like the Pointed more, all bias aside! i again like how it makes his eyes show more, and it even seems like they match with the grass in the background more with it, if that's something that interests you!whichever way you go, GORGEOUS stud, and i'd love to visit him if i ever get an NBW mono dark

 I love the look of the pointed one, but as you said, it is less favored. I lovvvveee zerdava, and it's more popular, but honestly, I'd go with patches pointed ^^ It matches well, and is honestly what I'd choose |

The more I look and compare I seem to like the pointed. I agree with katastrophic, it makes his eyes pop more. I like that. It also makes his belly pop more which I enjoy. I really like the darker look. I don't really like the black MoDs but on him this is what I'd personally pick. Which makes my whole first paragraph irrelevant because id rather a breeding from the pointed look over the zerdava. I'm excited to see what you pick. Good luck! |
