Optional New Puppy/Cub

Optional New Puppy/Cub

Its stupid I know but I low-key would like the option where our wolf 'puppies' could be born as cubs. As in instead of seeing New Puppy/New Runt Puppy/ New Largest Puppy, it would say New Cub etc.

No support. Don't really see a point in this. We know what they are either way, and most people even outside of wolvden and in communities that work with wolves call them "pups" or "puppies".

But they're wolves? The young are called pups or puppies? Cubs refers more to large semi-carnivorous animals like bears or lions.

There are definitely people who call them cubs - but it's pretty uncommon. It's more common in the UK. Rudyard Kipling called them cubs. Still, I don't see a point in this.

no support. i live in the US and we refer to young wolves as pups or puppies. young lions as cub or cubs.

i prefer to keep the name new puppy, new runt puppy , and new largest puppy. when pups are born.

I'm in the UK and the vast majority of people I know call them pups too.

However, for those wondering, cubs isn't incorrect or specifically associated with felines/bears/canines, it's a common phrase for usually large, usually carnivorous (or omnivorous) baby mammals. (I think it's becoming less common as more specific names are becoming the more common terms, such as kits, kittens, pups, puppies).

ok.

i still prefer to keep the names as new puppy, new runt puppy and new largest puppy.

i refer to cubs with lions and other big cats and bears.

kittens with house cats and small wild cats.

Yeah, it's stupid, but I like this idea. It could be fun lore-based feature to choose how your pack refers to their pups and possibly other roles. Kind of like how we can change our lead wolf's title.

if this idea does get added. i think the users should choose how their pack refers to their pups.

rather than changing it on the whole site.

I think they wanted it to be an option, not a forced thing anyway magic ^-^
