Meet the Matchmaker

Welcome to our February event - The Matchmaker! This month you will meet some very special wolves while helping a new friend run a Matchmaking business.

Matchmaking

Make long-lasting matches - this side of the event will allow you to recruit clients, pair them up on experimental dates, and choose final matches for them. All wolves have preferences, and it's up to you to find good matches and fix them up!

You can have up to 10 wolves in the agency at any time, but you'll still get new wolves wanting to apply. You can check for a new applicant every hour, and if you have people waiting and you free up a space, you can invite them in to find their match!

Dating

You can also choose to date - while recruiting clients, some wolves may show up interested in you! Take your pick of the clients, bring them gifts they like (or hate... your choice!), and show them your favourite areas in the game. Be careful, they have their own preferences though!

You can gift and date each wolf once per day. Both successful and unsuccessful dates will reveal their likes and dislikes, which can help you out with having the best date ever (or sabotaging the date, if that's more your style)!

For every positive aspect about a date, you can earn more towards an NPC's affection bar, and they'll become more and more comfortable and happy to be around you. If you don't pay attention to an NPC's preferences, though, you may reach a point with them where they refuse to date you.

New Items

Two new "types" of Lore items are in the game which are currently used exclusively for February dating and matchmaking - Gemstones and Flowers. They can be used for gifting - some wolves may like them, some may not!

New in 2025

Each existing NPC is being enriched with an additional two new sentences in each category!

Not only that, but four new NPCs will appear this year! We're starting with one added right away - Epi! The rest will appear in-game every few days one by one. Enjoy discovering them!

We plan to release a balanced pack of NPCs every year! This year, we've added NPCs with traits that fill some gaps, like liking Green eyes, specific coats, etc.

About NPCs from different events...
We plan to add future event NPCs as dateable wolves via explore encounters! This way, you can make a decision if you'd like to unlock them and add them to your dating pool with one click of a button! If you refuse them twice, their encounter will not appear anymore (this is our plan, we hope the code will cooperate!).

We will explain this more within the news some time after February 14th, as we'd like to add this new feature to the game within a Development Update mid-month!

This year, we plan to add in the Ashen Oath NPCs, though we'd like for you to check out a poll regarding whether you'd like your choice's ending to affect what NPCs you see or not (e.g. an NPC died in your ending, so they will not show up for you this year). This will not affect the existing event NPCs within the Matchmaking event (e.g. Faelcu and Lorcan)!

Shop!

The Boutique of Delights is a timed unlock, so you don't have to worry about the progress.

An event currency - Lovebugs - can be collected from matching, dating, a daily quest, and various new explore encounters that can be found throughout the entire event!

Items can be found in the Item Catalogue ahead of the shop unlocks, and any that are decorative or have visual effects (such as Base Applicators, etc.) can be seen in the Wolf Wardrobe. More items may be added throughout the month before their tier unlocks though, so keep your eyes peeled!

A new Light Special-tier base can be acquired this month from applicators - Leucippus!

We have added six cute, new encounters for you to find in explore, available universally in all biomes!

Alongside all this new fun stuff, this month's Lunar event will be adapting to February's event, exclusively for the month of February!

We sincerely hope you have fun this event, and we look forward to expanding on it in future years!

Matchmaking will begin on 1st February at 12am Wolvden time and last until 28th February at 11:59pm Wolvden time!
