The Howl That Calls Me Home

Beneath the stars,
within moonlit frost and forest,
the wolves piercingly yet faintly call…
their howl's echoing through
the dusky cloak of nightfall.

Through woodlands deep,
and ridged fields vast,
they valiantly stride
and silently glide.
Their fur whispers
vintage stories to keep,
possessing timeless pieces
of present, past,
and what will come to pass.

Their eyes like embers, soft yet slow,
as their bones hold a heart that hides
whilst their spirits
are forevermore aglow.
In packs they roam, 'tis a silent creed.
Each step a story, each breath a need,
they run as one, yet none the same.

We run as one
through shadowed skies,
linked by the hunt, the heart,
and the similarities of our eyes.
In the wolf's howls and silhouettes,
I am found,
as a spirit bound to earth,
yet somehow
still unbound.

There is a howl that echoes,
calling me home.
It is in the wolf's eyes, I see my soul,
a subtly silent strength
that is both fierce and whole.
The wolf's wilderness stirs
within the depths of me,
a bond unspoken, one could say.

There is a howl that echoes,
calling me home.
