Fun Fact: I almost made my starter wolf a Shadow the Hedgehog wolf. But I decided against it because I couldn't get him just the way I wanted. So instead I based her off of Time Link wolf from Legend of Zelda.

Lol if I had thought of it I would've made Sierra a honeydew since she's actually a lime (well, now darker) green in the Sonic OC universe Ducky and I have set up.

Okay, So Ducky has already heard this absurdly long story XD I'll try to shorten it (still might be long enough for multiple replies if there's a character limit)

So, remember how Shadow was a part of Project Shadow? Well, before that, a hedgehog prototype of him, as well as a sloth and another black hedgehog were created for its precursor, Project Ultimate. The sloth, named Sorrel, was modified with venomous claws. The more angry she gets, the more potent the venom (this is Ducky's character but she's important so here she is). And the other hedgehog, named Shade, was given telekinesis. Sorrel and Shade formed a relationship before Sorrel escaped and they have matching stuffed bears. Shade considers this a moment of weakness and had blocked it from her memory.

When Shadow's prototype was chosen and the project changed to Project Shadow, Shade was "purified" over the next 50 years, removing all of her memories and turning her into the lime green hedgehog Sierra. Sierra is 3 years younger than Sonic (so Amy's age). When she is 12, Shadow stumbles across the old Project Ultimate file and decides to release Shade to mess with Sonic and his friends by uttering the project name. This works to an extent, Sorrel ends up with broken ribs, and Sonic a concussion which took about 2 months to recover from (Sierra is also returned when Knuckles punches Shade in the head, so that was embarrassing for Shade). A few weeks after this incident, Shadow gifts Sierra the cyan Chaos Emerald, allowing Sierra to use Shade's powers without releasing her.

However, this ends up backfiring. 5 years later, Shade releases herself using the chaos energy she has been constantly been exposed to. She takes over faster this time after calling upon the Chaos Emeralds, and upon telling Sonic he won't see Sierra again, Sonic actually goes into his Dark Form (Sierra peeks through to stop him from going completely dark, but this gives Sorrel an idea). Sorrel shows Shade the bear and the hedgehog's guard goes crashing down, allowing Shade and Sierra to come to a compromise. Shade darkens Sierra's fur and adds a black patch resembling a scar over her left eye as well as a speck of red in the eye (Shade's eyes are red) in exchange for letting Sierra use her powers. They can talk to each other telepathically, making for some fun (to write) conversations.

WOW! That sounds awesome!! Now that's what I call great character development/backstory. I can only imagine all the fun conversations you had. Thanks for sharing this with me :)

Shade and Sierra have such different personalities it's so much fun writing them sharing a body, my favorite exchange I've probably ever written is in this story in the 6th chapter, I think it really shows off their differing personalities and the fact that they legit are two separate hedgehogs.
