Is it better to have a stud with a Tier 3 or a Special Base?

Asking because I'm not sure what base to give my next stud. I'd like to breed more T3 pups, and maybe have him be more competitive with outside breeding, but I'm not sure which is preferred. From what I've read, Special Bases are like T3 but wild cards. I read that there's a low chance for other Specials but are the odds the same for T3 pups?

The breeding odds about the same for T3s and T*s! It depends more on a base-by-base basis (pun not intended). For example, I've had a lot of success with my T3 hornfels stud, but a T* losna/moonlight gets a lot of attention too because of combo base breeding. Keep an eye on how many wolves have that base in game - a base with 0.1% of wolves compared to 0.9% is significant enough to make the 0.1% base more desirable.
