More Scouts per Pack adults

More Scouts per Pack adults

This is old, but still relevant

Currently you can only have 2 scouts, 1 herbalist, and unlimited pup sitters and hunters. Being that you can only have one hunting party out at a time the only point in having more then 5 parties is for energy and increasing the total hunting count. That is if the individual has the personal time to send them on hunts every 30 minutes to exhaust that total hunting count. That means the most hunters you could logically have would be 25 hunters. Which, is a lot, but I wouldn't use all those hunter as I don't have the time. Pupsitters are useful to have a bunch but their usefulness is determined by how many pups you have. If you have a lot of pups you are going to need more toys then you could get from just exploring with two scouts and the lead wolf. less then that if you are trying to explore all the regions.

I think increasing the number of scouts would be OP without a limiter, (with a ton of scouts you wouldn't need to wait for them to regain energy before sending them out again making finding all the biomes way to easy). So I think for every 10 wolves you have (so 1 can be herbalist, 5 hunters, and either a partial hunting party or a bunch of pup sitters) you can have 1 more scout. so if you have 50 wolves you would have 7 scouts, 5 spots earned, 2 spots given.

I support! However, the wolf counter should only count adult wolves, seeing as the adults are the only ones that can have jobs.

yeah, I meant to say adult wolf. I think I was just trying to get my idea written down.

That's okay, was just making sure that was clarified

Support! But maybe you get the normal 2 scouts, and when you get to 50 adult slots you can get 3, 100 you can have 4' etc. To make it not be overpowered because that could happen

I like the idea of more scouts but would suggest maybe 1 extra scout per 30-40 adult wolf territory slots... maybe even 50 rather than an extra scout per 10 adult slots as you can't explore an area a scout is in and there's only so many biomes on the map... and since 200 adults is the max if I remember right?

unless it was a case of allowing more wolves to have the scout role at once but limiting the number of scouts that can be sent out at the same time to 2. In which case the extra scout slot per 10 adult slots might be more feasible?

Or even if the extra scout slots were determined by how many areas you've unlocked?

But yes, I like the idea of more scout roles. I'm finding it hard to make use of all my adults... although I suppose that's part of the challenge...

Support! Having more scouts would help me increase the stats of some wolves, being able to get more scouts depending on how much territory space I have could be very helpful instead of having 2 all the time.

I support this because scouting is ideal for leveling up wolves/stat gain and it is challenging to level up/increase stats of an entire pack if you can only have two scouts.

Support!

Though, I have a different kind of suggestion on how to make extra scouts available to players. :)

It's REALLY hard to maintain a pack of 50 for the average person (assuming they don't have a stud that's bringing in all sorts of GC + they don't have a ton of time to sit on WD all day, etc.), and as such, it'd kinda suck to implement this feature for it to only benefit those who can manage a pack of that size, while everyone else is basically shit outta luck.

Maybe it staggers based on how many territory areas you've discovered fully? In the beginning (starting out with a new leader), it'd still be as challenging, so this wouldn't take away from that much at all. It'd get easier the more time you put into the game, which essentially kinda goes along with how the game works already. This would definitely help stat gain, amusement item gain (idk about yall, but I'm always low), and help unlock new territories quicker.

Maybe at every four territories unlocked, you get +1 scout. So, at the end of it all, with all 12 territories unlocked plus your two starting scouts, you can have a total of five scouts, which isn't OP in my opinion, given there'd be a lot of room to spread your scouts out. For lore purposes, this would make sense with a lot more territory to cover as well!

I agree with @Evil ! Since we only have 2 scouts, I think going from only having two to them being easy/easier to get is a little unfair for the dev team - but also unfair for the people who can't maintain huge packs/don't want huge packs.

I think Evil's idea for it to stagger based on territory discovery is cool. More territory to explore means... more scouts, right? Scouts really help bring in amusement items when they rescout, and it's a great way to earn stats!

That being said, having over 2 scouts at a low pack amount/only a few biomes would be a little too easy. It's difficult for wolves to scout new areas, difficult for them to find things, and that's how it should be! More scouts opening up due to the size of the pack just makes more sense to me, but not only when the pack is gigantic. ^^
