Year 01.

Spring, Year 01. Falling Rain's father and brothers have all passed. While winter has set aside her war against the living, spring has brought a time to rejoice. Memories of summer has lifted the spirits of those that remain in Damar, and new lives have arrived by the dozens. With these new souls, the newly appointed Sachem hesitates to follow in his father's footsteps; uneasy at the idea of giving in to a faceless, apathetic spirit, but he knows it is for the greater good. In autumn, many brave young Pia will enter the forests; but only It knows who has been marked for loss.

Fall, Year 01. A new threat has taken root in the Great Expanse. A murdered pup, stinking of coyote, was found not far from camp. It was an audacious act; what foolish coyote would do such a thing this close to a sleeping wolf pack? But it was only a taste of the battle that was to come. All Pia survive the Maw of Monsters, and become reborn as Kaah.

Winter, Year 01. A coyote pack lures Cold Sleet to the forest, murdering him and his young friends Black Bird and Prairie Flower. The trio are found a day later. A moon passes, and another young she-wolf named Dry Brook is found dead near the Salt Pools. It is the work of many. The scent of the coyotes holds something sinister; deceased, perhaps, but it is a confusing scent. A work of the new God? Are these coyotes... undead? A silly notion, but it is not an impossibility. A dark idea takes root in the Sachem's mind. Does the new God expect sacrifices? If he sacrifices his newborn son in his name, will the killings cease?

Not long after the grim discovery, White Moth's unnamed newborn son goes missing while she sleeps, and rumors run rampant in the camp. The Sachem seems to withdraw from the pack, giving reassurances where needed. There are no more deaths this winter.
