I'm playing Sonic Battle story mode on an emulator and am struggling to make it past this first Knuckles fight... why does our echidna boi have to be such a heavy hitter?!

It doesn't matter, the next fight I made great progress, taking out two of his lives on my first one, and then it came down to who got the next kill AND I FINALLY WON!

(I saved it because I am not going through that hassle again)

Crap I have to fight him again.... time to take another half an hour to take down Knuckles, cue the Knuckles theme

I found a cheeseable strategy, I can spam an attack to keep the endlag from finishing, but I can only use it rarely. This is less about me actually reading Knuckles's fighting style like I'm supposed to and more about me trying to button mash without catching myself in a useless combo that isn't doing damage
