Do you have any tattoos? If not, what tattoo would you like to get? (Courtesy of Ghostie)

I have one tattoo below my shoulder blade that is the outline of a dog running on a heartbeat line with Rosebud 11-11 under it. It's for my puppy who was born on Nov 7, 2011 and I can't believe she's 9 already!!

I want to get a matching one with my sister, but we can't decide because we want to make it unique and about us.

I also want to get a watercolor-esque (not sure about the watercolor, but I want it in color for sure) of two gold finches either sitting on a lilac flower or carrying lilly of the valley...

That one has a long explanation so if you don't feel like reading, yous don't have to lol.

Almost 20 years ago we lost my uncle to brain cancer. I don't remember much from the funeral, except these tiny foam gold finches that came in one of the bouquets that I got to keep. After the funeral I saw them everywhere it feels like, and it made it feel like he was still there with me. (That's where the type of bird comes from) Every year my mom and I would go and visit some of the different graves of family right around memorial day, and no matter how nasty, rainy, or cold it was I would make her stop at his grave. Every spring right around then our lilac bushes and lilly of the valley plants would be blooming, and I would make sure to pick a small bouquet and tie it with a blade of grass to leave for him there. (That's where my indecision about the type of flower comes from) This year has been a rough year on my family too. We lost my Grandma back in March, basically from old age, and just before Halloween we lost my aunt. She had some bad health scares before, and we all know that we don't live forever, but it is still always a shock. She never remarried after my uncle had passed, but she did have a long term relationship which was good for her to not be alone. (That's why I want two finches)

Sorry for the babbling if you read all that lol. It has just been something that I've been planning for years, and it always makes me super sappy when I talk about it lol.

@Bookie That is really sweet. I hope that tattoo comes out really well <3

I don't have any tattoos as of yet, and I'm lowkey scared of how much it would hurt lol. I've had people reassure me and tell me the best possible spots for a first-time tattoo/one that doesn't hurt as much getting done but my nerves won't listen

One day though, I would like to get one that is Ancient Egyptian themed, as that is the pantheon I follow ^^ So I need to create a design for one that includes the gods I'm closest with especially Bast I love Her :p. Don't have any clue what it would be but I need one lol

I do not have any tattoos yet, but I would love to get one on my upper arm of a wolf, cougar, horse, and eagle all black and stylized strokes. I feel like those four animals are the animals that match my soul in their own way and I’ve always loved them all for reasons I couldn't entirely explain. The eagle is because I am a very free person and flying would be the ultimate freedom in my eyes. A cougar because there are solitary and mysterious and they honestly reflect me the most. A wolf because they are stronger together and smart. A horse because they are majestic, beautiful and mighty, but cautious as well.

@Moon, an Egyptian one would be awesome! Especially if it had some hieroglyph stylization. Bast is awesome, my favorite Egyptian god alongside Horus and Anubis.

@Bookie I love the story behind the finches. Those kind of tattoos just warm my heart <3

I have about 10 tattoos now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!! I’ve designed all of my tattoos and they all have some kind of meaning or story to them besides one I just kinda decided to get on a whim. The majority of them are floral themed and I want to keep it going (my last name is Flores, Spanish for flowers, and I love flowers).

I’ve planned on getting a wolf Namabuki (or severed head) sitting in a flower tattoo for a long time for starting my business. I’ve also always wanted a huge Ghibli tribute tattoo as well as one for my love of photography and baking. And “lastly”, a tattoo of my hedgehog Umō that passed away this year in July. I plan on getting that on on my arm to go with an existing one and to finally finish it off with flowers. Yeah...I really love tattoos and getting them. Lol. I can’t wait to be able to get tattooed again

@Moon I was scared too and I’m sure you’ve heard it all. I had always wanted one so I set the appointment up before I really started thinking how much it might hurt and everyone has different pain tolerances so I never believe people. But when I was in the chair and asked the guy how it would feel, he described it as line work is like being scratched by a cat and shading is like sandpaper or road rash. Afterwards it’s like a itchy sun burn. My first tattoo locations were my shoulder blade and calf (supposed some of the best places). But I have one behind my ear and two on my ribs (vertical and horizontal). My ear was small and quick so it was the best but ribs are the worst! I hadn’t eaten once too so definitely don’t do that.

@Bookie That really is sweet! My favorite tattoo is one that is truly special to that person.

@Verse Oooo yes! I would peobably want to do enough research into that though to make sure the hieroglyphs are correct :p I just got an idea for what tattoo I would want of Bast even though my mind should definitely be slowing down for sleep lol. And I love Anubis too!

@JuneJuniper I have cats, so the line work will be like every other day lmao. I do remember the “best starter places” being the calf, shoulder, and....there was a certain spot on the arm? I can’t recall now. I’ve also heard horror stories of people who got their first tattoos  on their ribs/ankles so I will not be doing that for a bit

Also, I really love hearing everyone’s tattoos <3 All these ideas are so neat and meaningful

I don't currently have any tattoos but I'm excited to get one.
I haven't yet decided what to get, since the first one is pretty important and pretty permanent ><

My father said that when I do get my first one, he will pay for it and he will get (another) one with me, so that's awesome.
I'm currently thinking something about my family or having to do with a semicolon.

TW: briefly mentions su*cide

The semicolon, as some of you may know, is a symbol for somebody who was going to end their life but didn't. Since that is kind of a huge part of my journey in life, I'm contemplating getting something centered around that. Might even be a small, basic, semicolon tattoo on my wrist.
As far as the tattoo about my family, I have recently had several loved one pass and I would like to do something to remember them. I think and elk (possible with geese flying over) would be best in memory of my grandpa. He was a hunter and at his funeral we saw an elk in the middle of the city, right outside the funeral home, and as we were lowering his ashes into the ground geese flew overhead, seemingly out of nowhere. It made us all feel like he was still there with us and that he was letting us know he was OK. It was a crazy experience for me especially bc I am not religious and it brought up some questions, and it was heartwarming to think that he was still with us.
I also may get a sleeve (or two) like my father has. He has entire scenes representing me, his dad, his wife (my stepmom) and my halfsister on his arms. They're all based off of Zodiacs. So, for example, the ram in the scene is for me (Aries), the koi fish are for my stepmom (Pisces), the lion is for my his late father (Leo), and he recently got the tattoo of a man pouring water into an ocean with a large pirate ship finished. The latter is for my sister, an Aquarius (water-bearer). I might do something similar to this idea, by getting tattoos that feature the zodiac symbols of loved ones.

@ Baby

Plenty of people get tattoos to get over their fear of needles.
Of course not saying you should get one if you're uncomfortable with it but supposedly it actually helps with a fear of needles :D
