How To Check For Albino/Melanism Carriers

Yeah I’m trying for at least carriers since I’m replacing the entire den anyway. Who knows, maybe the next Jonnie will be a carrier!

I have one pup I bought unknowingly who has The Moof as her grandfather so once she grows up I'll test her for melanism. I doubt she has the gene but one never knows for sure until we try!

I would love to more or less partner up with some of you and begin an official albinism/melanism hunting/breeding project. It might take a while but it'll be fun and hopefully in the end worth it. Let's finally have some new faces and wolves in the family trees of these albinism and melanistic wolves.

Definitely!  I'd be down to help out in this as a group, makes it a lot easier compared to having one person doing all the work.

I can help out once I finish my territory to 200, but until then I’ll be mostly testing my own hoard

If we find alleged cubs with Melanism or albinism, we can join them with other wolves that also showed possible cubs with Melanism/Albinism and test these genes

Great! I'll be getting off for the night but I'll be checking this thread tomorrow and happily continue the discussion and add more data to the spreadsheet. To make things clearer for me, anyone who scries their wolves either post the two IDs of the wolves that were scried or link the two wolves that were scried and how many times you scried them. If you believe you have a positive result, send in a screenshot of the scrying session so we can try and confirm whether it's a genuine melanistic pup or a plain black pup.

@Doge I'm writing down every time I do Scry on my females, if I find something interesting I come here and write my attempts, the couple and the photo!
