Advertising Wolves as Mutation Carriers As of today, we have updated our policy regarding the community advertising their breeding males and wolves as mutation carriers. If your breeding male/wolf has a living and visible pup OR a deceased pup stored in the dynasty with the mutation you're trying to advertise, you are allowed to advertise them as a confirmed carrier for that mutation. If your breeding male/wolf does not have a living and visible pup OR a deceased pup stored in the dynasty with the mutation you're trying to advertise, you cannot advertise them as a confirmed carrier—you must refer to them as a "possible carrier" or "potential carrier" for that mutation. Unfortunately, this does mean that if your wolf previously had a living mutated pup, but that pup has since passed away and was not stored in the dynasty or had been chased off, you cannot advertise them as a confirmed carrier. Clarification Edit: Scrying your breeding male/wolf in the Scrying Stone is not a valid way to confirm that your wolf is a carrier. Concrete evidence in the form of a living pup or deceased pup stored in the dynasty is the only way that you are able to list your wolf as a confirmed carrier. This policy has been put into place to avoid wolves being falsely advertised as carriers of mutations when it cannot be confirmed just by looking through the wolf's lineage. Please be sure to report players that are advertising their wolves as carriers when there is no evidence they have produced a certain genetic mutation. Our staff team will be issuing actions as appropriate and cancelling any trades that falsely advertise their wolves as carriers. Additionally, please remember that some mutations are recessive/genetic whilst others are random. Whether a mutation is recessive or random is indicated on the mutation icon displayed on the wolf's page. You cannot advertise your wolves as being carriers of random mutations, as these mutations spontaneously occur and are not determined by wolf genetics whatsoever. Discussing Other Websites We understand that gamers love games, and love talking about all the games they're playing. We want to encourage this and continue to allow discussion of other games in our chat and forums. However, we also understand that other games might do things differently to Wolvden, and that's cool too! What we'd like to ask is that Wolvden is treated as a game in its own space, and for criticism and suggestions to be curated specifically for this game. We do not allow suggestions or criticisms based on how another game does it differently, which you may prefer. What one game might do might work awesomely for them, but may translate quite poorly over here, and vice versa! Here are some (hopefully helpful) examples of what is and is not against our rules. We're using Lioden as a placeholder for another website to avoid mentioning other games by name. Okay: "I play Lioden, it's cool!" In addition to the above, we do want to remind the community about our general rules that have been in place since the site's launch. * You CAN discuss, mention, and name other browser-based games in the chat room, the forums, PMs, and on your den/profile pages. Last Night's Downtime We'd like to apologise for the downtime that occurred around 6:52pm to 7:37pm Wolvden time last night. This downtime was completely unexpected, and while everything seems to be running smoothly since Wolvden came back up, we're investigating the cause of it. |
