Z was getting worried for Adelite. " Adelite darlin.. come on and rest. The heir you carry will be just fine.  I will take care of them no matter what happens " he nuzzled her gently  before wrapping himself around her

The seasons had changed since Adelite had first found out she was carrying. The camp was covered in snow and the food was dwindling. She shivered and walked into the alpha's den, curling up with Z. "I'm worried for the pack."

Z whined " Dont be babe. Im the best hunter in this pack. we wont go hungry. " He he realized that was not what his mate meant " I see.. um... why worry? Is it the baby?"

She got up and paced the den. " I don't know, I'm just staying cautious. Winter isn't a good time for pups and I--" she sighed. "If the pack doesn't make it through the winter, its my fault. I have to stay strong for them."

Z sighed " Baby.. im the best hunter in the pack.. have I EVER made any of you starve? No of course not"

"No," she said, sitting back down. She tapped her tail anxiously.

" Then stop worrying babe. I know when to go hunt. Lots of  elk are around this time of year. So.. and the pup will be just fine. I promise" he  nuzzled her and the belly gently " you need rest"

Fractals was  on the other side of Z and was asleep no hearing the conversation

"Why don't you go hunting now," she suggested, touching noses.

'yes dear' Z said standing up and walked off to the hunting ground where the elk bulls roamed. it didnt take long for him to find one and began to chase it.

Soon after he was out of site, Adelite checked on Fractals and then crossed the snowy camp to the healers den. She explained that something had felt wrong for a while. While the healer was gathering herbs Adelite laid down, exhausted.
