pronoun changes?

Posted 2 days ago
I 100% support this

1) As a trans masc nonbinary dude, I really wish I could set certain wolves to be the gender I want. I also have had wolves that- for whatever reason- I thought were male or female but it turned out the opposite and so I just made it part of their lore. I.e. I thought Faun was a girl, until I went to check when she'd go into heat and found that she was in fact a male. Now, she's in a lesbian relationship and still able to breed like I intended for her to :]

2) This forum has made it incredibly clear that this is similar to the same-sex couple feature we have. If you don't want gay wolves, you don't have to use them. If your support is based on whether or not you would use a feature, then you aren't really using the support / oppose feature right. Queer people should have representation, even if it doesn't apply to you specifically. As nicely as possible, cis representation is never going anywhere, but trans representation is hard to find.

3) Adding it in would be incredibly easy. Everyone saying it'd be too hard or complex for the devs are severely underestimating the skill of the devs. This includes custom pronouns as well. In fact, I have seen this very feature in both web browsing games and in regular sites. The mock up shown before is pretty much exactly how it'd work.

4) The footnote idea doesn't work. It just doesn't. It also doesn't solve the problem that OP is talking about, which proves just how many people did not read it past "add pronouns." Flavor text is when you get things such as "This wolf is currently on a breeding cool down. She will be able to fall pregnant again in 6 rollovers!" If the wolf this appears on is nonbinary, or a trans male, then the pronoun usage is incorrect and that does matter to some people. Especially people who treat their leads as extensions of themselves. If you believe that's silly, that's your opinion, but it doesn't change just how many people want this feature.

5) It's such a non issue it's crazy. Us trans folk just want to option to see ourselves in the game outside of a few NPCs or color options (of which I use none). If it's confusing to you, that has nothing to do with the suggestion and everything to do with not being educated in 2025. None of the "cons" people have suggested have been anything short of extreme reaches.

6) In a game where we have bright neon colored wolves, hell breaking lose every October, and frilly alien glow worm wolves every month, no one has any grounds to really shoot this down based on realism. This is Wolvden, not Wolfquest.

Much love from your local he/they/it :D!!
