Anyone else notice this about battling

Idk if this has been said before or not bc I typically don't like using the forums much, but when you're fighting something, I found a great rule of thumb is to use 'shear' against carnivores and 'crush' against herbivores. Getting the latch off is the most difficult part, ofc, but I can usually shear or crush at least 3 times if I'm using it against the correct enemy type. 

Anyone else have battle tips they wanna share? This was just something I wanted to say to help people battle foxes, but idk if there's a better technique because I prefer to learn the game tricks on my own most of the time
